I have read conflicting opinions on this, so am not sure what to think. I am inclined to feel it's fine, based on the age of the child and the amt they nurse. Is there anyone who has smoothie feasted while nursing a child?
DD is 28 mo and only nursing before bed (although she would nurse all day if I let her-topic for another conversation).
My eating is out of control and if she's getting stuff from my milk, it's no good anyway.
I would love to do a cleanse but know that;'s not ok till she's finished. And I am not going to rush weaning my last babe, who loves milk, just to make myself feel better by doing a cleanse.
However, if I smoothie feast, will that be any better? She doesn't need any nourishment from me, just comfort/snuggling.
Thoughts?

yep -- i would think that doing a smoothie feast while nursing a 28 month old is TOTALLY fine.

Awesome, thanks!
Just to clarify, a smoothie feast is just eating all smoothies for meals right? Is there any other details?

Yes, just smoothies, chock full o' greens, ideally, would be a smoothie feast, and little ol' breastfeeding activist me would totally do one while nursing - even a little one. :)

perfectly fine. I would add some extra fat (coconut oil, nuts, nut butter, avocado) for help with binding toxins and minimizing die off. How long have you been raw? You may also want to look into doing something like a living clay to absorb any toxins in the gut that result. All in all though it should be perfectly fine. As always, watch the baby. IF he/she experiences discomfort you may need to adjust (and that may simply be adding a clay or something similar to assist in removal of toxins.)
You may find that greens boost your supply a bit! However if you are only nursing a few times a day it shouldn't be much of an issue. If it's not being removed it shouldn't create any problems.

First off I have to say that yes she is getting nourishment from you. If you were giving her a bottle of pop instead of the breastmilk once a day... that would do great harm - and so your breastmilk is doing equally good for her.
Second of all you say your eating is out of control. I suggest you focus on eating a good variety of raw live foods with a green smoothie or two daily. After all... raw foods are cleansing and healing on their own. You don't have to fast to gift your body that!
Third, she is breastfeeding and in my opinion (not that I have any more or less of an opinion than anyone else here) your responsibility is to put her first at this time - and eating a diet 100% in raw live foods is the best way for you to do that. You have a lifetime to fast/feast... right now... is a time for you to eat.
much love to you and your little one...

Yeah, she's just nursing once/day, for bedtime. I was initially going to fully wean her, but she isn't happy with the removal of her naptime nursing time, so I don't want to wean her fully just yet.
What is living clay, and how do I add that for the removal of toxins????
Also, I do realize I have a lifetime for fasting/cleansing and the baby comes first, this is why I decided to do a smoothie feast instead. I have been pregnant or breastfeeing for the last 10 yrs, and my body has taken a beating. I went raw 2 yrs ago for healing and it worked pretty well, but since being home (we moved from asia to ny in december) I have incorporated lots of unraw foods and feel yuck. I also have a history of eating disorders, which sometimes makes "just raw" difficult. I would like to feast to have more control over my eating, and this incorporates many many good things, just blended. Gets my mind off of what I am going to eat and the sweets etc, making life simpler for a while.
Thanks for all your input!
