I am absolutely craving this soup and wondered if anyone has ever figured out or has a recipe for it raw? Thanks for any input.

I've never tried. I hope someone else has...it sounds delicious, I want some!

you could try making a walnut type filling and stuffing thinly sliced turnips or root veggie of your choice like raviolis and putting them in a veggie broth (Matt Amsden has a recipe in his RAWvolution book)
but i doubt it would be the same :(
I also crave wonton soup, it was always my favorite hands down, since I was a little kid! :( there are some things we just have to give up I suppose !

Thanks Jenna - nothing like the real thing eh? Sigh. I am still doing the Master Cleanse and this must be one of my especially "hungry" days. It's been 3 weeks now! Pretty good.

Here's a receipe for the broth that I found.

4 1/2 - 5 cups chicken stock
green onion, thinly sliced, as desired
a few drops sesame oil (optional)

You can make a season salt that is raw and use that to make "Chicken stock"
Green onion and semsame oil are easy.

Here are the ingredients for the wontons

18 - 24 won ton wrappers
Filling:
1/2 pound boneless lean pork, chopped finely maybe a walnut based paste to substitute?
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
a few drops sesame oil
1 teaspoon sherry
1/2 teaspoon sugar(use any sweetner)
1 green onion, finely minced

The oyster sauce can be substituted with this recipe

• 1 mushroom broth (boullion) cube
• 1/2 cup boiling water
• 2 Tbsp. brown bean sauce
• 1 generous Tbsp. unprocessed sugar
• 1 tsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1 tsp. cold water

You can make condensed mushroom sauce/broth(without cooking)
The brown bean sauce is a salty soybean paste - can be substituted with Miso, I assume.

With enough thought and ingredient tweaks, this might be possible. :)

Broken Aquarian yes, this is very thoughtful of you and likely doable. Thanks very much.

Hi all,

Ok, lets see instead of using wonton wrappers, use a mix of coconut water and young coconut meat with a little bit of golden flax to hold everything together. The ground golden flax helps with the colour and also makes the wrapper more durable. Experiment to get the right texture, blend this mixture till smooth with your vitamix, spread in paper thin circles on your teflex sheets then dehydrate at 110 degress for 1 hour or so till it is dry. Time it takes will depend on the humidity of where you live. not crunchy or crisp, but the texture of rice paper. This can be used for rice paper roll wrappers as well.

To thicken your mock oyster sauce why not use ground white chia seeds, also known as salvia, leave in the fridge to thicken. This also requires some experimenting. Instead of corn starch. Which is very unhealthy. Or even sunflower seeds soaked perhaps.

Good luck.

Carla.
