Yesterday at my natural food store I bought some wheat grass because I really want to begin to incorpoate it into my daily routine. For one I don't have a wheat grass juicer so I thought I would get up and juice the grass in my juicer. It didn't work. It started shooting out everywhere and I couldn't get any juice made. So then i decided to take my spewed grass over to the blender and put it in a green smoothie which I'm drinking now. There are a few stings of grass but nothing I don't mind. Anyway my thing is : Is it better for me to get the wheat grass juicer or is it just as good putting it into my smoothie in the morning. Also would you stick with regular wheat grass or get wheat grass powder instead.

Wheat grass....ummmm superior food, worth it!!! Wheatgrass for its best, needs a wheatgrass juicer or some type of juicer that will do greens.
Blender, yes very stringy plus the blade might oxidize it before you get it blended enough to extract the juice. I have not wanted to eat those parts.

They need to be cut up really to do the best job without a WG juicer.

I just bought my first TRAY of WG yesterday.Fun. I love cutting the 'hair',like cutting hair(I used to) or mowing the lawn with scissors.hahaha

First of all, humans are not made to digest grass so, if you're going to use it in your blender, I'd suggest chopping it and blend with water then strain it. Add the water to your smoothie.

Best thing to do is get a better juicer or a specific wheatgrass juicer.

You can get the powder yet, it's not a whole food and has been processed to maintain whatever life it's got left as wg juice "should" be drunk immediately after juicing as it's very delicate and oxidizes rapidly. You'll have to make that decision.

You should have seen my kids face this morning when I put the wheat grass in the regular juicer. It shot out the back like a lawn mower. I have blades of grass all aound the kitchen now. It was funny.

Ok, I'm going to get a wheat grass juicer today. I bought a small thing of wheatgrass yesterday for almost $5.00. Then last night I was trying to find out how to grow my own. I had NO IDEA wheat grass was from wheat berries. Now I'm off to get my own crop of grass. Thanks

I put WG in my smoothies all the time! :p

I do have a Vitamix, and it doesn't seem to have any problems at all with the WG. Of course, I don't blend JUST the WG... there's usually a banana, some frozen berries, a handfull of parsley or kale, and water...

humans are not made to digest grass

that seems to suggest that we are not meant to eat wheatgrass

Lol!

I got a 5 pound bag of wheatgrass seed that im going to be using to grow my own here soon, I can't wait. I don't have a wheatgrass juicer, so I think i will just eat it raw or just put it in my smoothies whole.

This morning I did what Revvell suggested and chopped some wheat grass and put it in my blender with 1/2 c of water. Mix it really good and then strained it. Had a pretty good green water color that tasted like grass so I think that worked well.

Jurence- I can't wait to grow mine as well. I just sprouted my first alfalfa sprouts the other day. It is quite fun.
