Hi Everyone,
I'm weighing in at 6 months raw and going strong. Lost 20lbs and I feel terrific. The most remarkable health improvement I've noticed is that my running has improved immensely. Through cutting out dairy products completely I've noticed better respiratory function. I'm hoping that when the summer approaches that I'll have found the cure to my allergy problems. All in all I'm very satisfied and would like to continue and improve on what I've been doing. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge through everyone's experience strength and hope.

Thank you

Awesome job bro! I'm sure your allergies will get better as you continue going raw. I know that I used to get a lot of colds during the winter before I changed my eating habits. After changing and eating raw fruits & veggies, I haven't caught a cold yet, even though everyone one around me has been pretty much stricken with the bug. So I attribute my health to the wonderful nutrients in raw foods that keep my body strong and fortified to fight off the cold/flu bug. So I'm sure eating raw may have awesome effects on keeping your allergies down. I wish you well.

Congrats! You are doing super!!!.....My husband would like to do Raw 100% but just isn't satisfied with what I eat: smoothies, salads, avo, nuts, coconuts, I make dehydrated things, but he thinks they all taste the same....he does like smoothies, but isn't big on salads....would you mind giving us a sample daily menu? I am wondering if there is a difference in men/women diets and if perhaps you are eating some things that would appeal to him and encourage to try 100%.............? Thank You! Deb

I like your comment, we should keep in touch. I also didn’t have a cold all winter and we get pretty cold weather in Germany. Last year when I wasn’t raw I had colds often.

Thanx Pking

Hi Deb,

This is great, I really didn’t expect such a reception! So I want to first thank everyone for the super compliments and great responses!

I wish your husband the best of luck with his 30 days. It took me a while to go 100% raw, but the more you do it the better it gets. I still need to cut out coffee.

It’s true that things should be yummy to your tummy, that’s why when I can I try to buy organic. I basically don't have a recipe/menu plan, but it is important for me to stock up on in-season fresh fruits and veggies. So I hit up the local farmers market twice a week and drop at least 30 Euros per visit on myself and its that simple. I look at it as an investment on my health. After a while I’ve gotten to know a few sales people and it's fun going there.

First thing in the morning I've worked myself slowly up to 150 consecutive situps on an inclined bench and then I do separate stomach exercises on a mat, which I found on Youtube. My goal is to loose my belly buster when I turn 45 in July. I then start cutting up fruits and greens to prepare a salad for lunch at work. At the same time toss nuts, bananas and fruits into a Rapunzel muesli mix with fresh almond milk or sometimes warm water. For the salad it is important to make a dressing that fits to your tastebuds. What I just learned on the weekend was peaches mixed up with fresh mint, awesome!!

When I get home I like to make a green smoothie with water, spinach and bananas before a workout. My workouts consist of weekly: 2x running, 1x yoga, 1x swimming and 2-3x crosstraining at the gym. When I lift the right mix of music is a must. I find Rage Against the Machine does the job well. In the summer I plan to be on my bike a lot. It’s important for me to eat after a workout right away until I feel satisfied and my goal is always to burn 3500 calories per week, which hasn’t been easy. I just think its good to go slow and build up lung capacity in order to workout longer. That’s where the fat begins to drop off.

Welcome any suggestions on improvements.

Thank you

It's funny most people will just ask me if I've lost weight and after I tell them 10Kg, they usually don't compliment me but just stare. In that regard I'm happy to be in this forum for all the terrific support.

Fantastic work! You look great!

RE: allergies...it sounds like you feel the same way I did about my allergies: that they would be something you could control, if only you knew what you were/were not doing/eating/etc.

My experience: get your digestive system calmed down. Hystamine is apparently produced at night in our stomachs??? I never really understood my doc's description of the process, but I can, for instance, completely avoid my allergies by taking ranitidine (OTC antacid) at night, before bed. Trick is to find the thing that does that naturally...

Are you sure you've only lost 20lbs? That looks like more than 20lbs? Have you been lifting weights and that's masking your weight loss?

You look great!

Deb, my husband is just making the transition. I find that the more glam prepared dishes he likes. Raw Lasagne with pine nut cheese and spicy marinara, marinated portobellas didn't survive two minutes with him, I had to fight for it! He ate 3 servings.

He also loves the meaty things Falafel, meat balls, etc. Made from nut pates and veggie pulp, spiced and dehydrated. Says it reminds him of machacha (dried, shredded, salted beef from Mexico) or a bean burrito. I make smoothies with pineapple, celery, parsley, lettuce and ginger and he likes those.

If I make veggie juice, I put two apples and carrots in there to sweeten it up and he drinks it, not without though. Raw chocolate helped sell the idea, as did a chocolate coconut pudding (cacao powder, coco shreds, avo and agave) and raw ice cream. Good luck!

Six months!? What an achievement you have there in those photos. Congratulations. I'm greatly inspired seeing success stories from eating raw.

I believe just a few more months and you will eventually get rid of allergy.

I just started raw but have been reading a lot about it and I'm just amazed by the great results!
