When you find the perfect avocado

And to be able to eat them without guilt or question....oo la la. :)

When I open a perfect avocado I almost don't want to eat it..because then it will be gone, and for me its usually 1 in 10 avocados that are perfect:rolleyes:

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! YES! I have always said that the one food I could not do without is avocados! If I had to pick one food item to live on the rest of my life that is what it would be!

Unfortunately, lately they have been terrible. YUCK! BLECH!

Then this past week Fry's had their organic avocados for $1.00 each so I took a chance and they were amazing! Buttery, no nasty strings...and I fell in love with them all over again! :p

I bought a bag from Costco this last saturday. 4 were perfect, one was slightly stringy. I hate the stringy ones and wonder how they get that way. I love the giant ones from Costco, the price can't be beat.
The one's from the supermarkets are usually black inside, stringy or taste odd.
The best one's I've ever eaten were from a roadside stand in the Hemet area of southern California. But this was years ago. They were so good, I still remember them fondly. :)

oh yes! I love these places. Had a great surprise on my first vacation: arrived in the hotel in the evening and they had sliced avocados with onions and cukes for supper and tons of fruit for afters-yum! What a great place it is. The food is lying on the ground in front of you: coconuts, mangoes, papayas etc. but people complain about not being able to buy enough rice and bread. Ah, if they would know how rich they are...

The Perfect Avocado is a Hass Avocado, they are rich and Buttery in Flavor. They are not tasteless and watery. Take it from someone in Avocado Country. They are the Dark Green ones with all the Bumps. In Joy..........

i am in so cal where we have TONS of these, but i only really enjoy the more watery varieties. :D I love the big round ones that are shaped like a soft ball the best. man. the kinds with the smooth outer skin. yum yum.

1 avocado half an onion half a tomato, slice avocado into small pieces, dice onions/tomato, stir, enjoy.

oh my goodness rawlight i know what you mean when you find the perfect one. but i love them all, even the ones with brown spots. all taste yummy to me now. haas avos are the winners, i agree with comments above - rich & creamy.
