My son is almost 7 and has a few food intolerances. I have given him enzymes to help digest these when we cannot help it getting to him (praties etc). But I have not been able to find chewable ones for him, and the powder/tablets gag him.
Does anyone know of a good chewable enzyme for children??
ps, he's not raw, unfortunately!

That's funny! You know, I looked at these but didn't even give them a second thought cause they look like sugary stuff. Guess you can't judge a bottle by it's cover :)
Do you notice a difference when taking them? Do you take them daily or with certain foods? Just one?
Thanks!

You can find chewable Vegan Enzymes in your local health store, by solgar. They taste nice, and you don't need to take them for too long, only about 3 months and then they are in your system. Try spirulina also, it is an algae which is good for digestion and health among many other things!

Slightly, slightly off topic, because this topic is about chewable enzymes.

Making home made enzymes is a huge thing now in Asia. and they mainly use raw fruits and herbs. It's good for health, but there's not much info in English. There are many books written about it in Chinese though.

Here's a link to someone's blog (written by a Malaysian I think, but you can google "fruit enzymes" for more info).

I do hope you guys can try it.

By the way, there's another interesting article about how a bunch of traders use garbage to clean their market. http://eatrawfoodtoday.blogspot.com/2009/03/garbage-enzyme-used-to-clean-market.html :D

Body Biotics has an adult and children's chewable.

Digestive enzymes don't stop being needed at 3 months. They don't stay in your system. Would be nice if that happened. Some people may have less or no issues if they're on a better diet, but regardless it's a continuous product. If one is 100% raw after a period of time they may choose not to use them, though some experts say you always should for health benefits.

My son's nutritionist introduced us to Houston's a few years ago, and we love them. My son has no problem eating them. we buy Zyme Prime and AFP Peptizyde. We use the bulk powders in smoothies, as well.
