I have been looking all over the internet and I cannot find any websites that sell the good4u or excalibur dehydrators. Ideally I'd like the 9 or 5 drawer ones. The shipping and exchange rate is so much to Canada, I wonder what other Canadians do. I live in Calgary, AB also.

Hi fellow Calgarian. Community Natural Foods across from the Chinook LRT station carries Excaliburs. I got mine on ebay though, probably a little cheaper even with s and h.

I got a 9 tray "Blemished" one on ebay (never say a blemish) for something like $140, but I don't really remember the price, it was a long time ago, but far cheaper than a non blemished one. It was direct from excalibue also (they sell them on ebay).

Thanks snoops, I saw them at the downtown location on top of the produce. I looked through the whole store for a good 15 minutes just for that before i asked. I'm such a dummy, i never looked up and they're in brown boxes. So now I know a 9 tray will cost me $315 with tax, on ebay you can get them for about $260 with shipping and exchange so i have to think about it, if i had the money get it right away or save money and wait.... i really want to make chips and crackers and stuff to take with me. It seems i keep going away for the weekend and my friends and family think i'm nuts bringing food with me instead of eating some sort of nasty fast food salad. lol you save money tho

When you say $260 on ebay do you mean $260 US or Canadian and including tax and shipping or not?
In any case whatever you do do not have it shipped by UPS or FedEx (use USPS), they charge up to 100% tax upon delivery (that is not a typo), so a $200 item ends up costing up to $400 plus shipping because they will ask for up to another $200 and if you refuse they do not give you the delivery, UPS and FedEx are criminals and the only way they are allowed to do this is because the government gets a big chunk of their rip off.

The listings on ebay said that as per canadian customs their item is not subject to fees.
And I said $260 including shipping and exchange for a 5 or 6 drawer one, can't remember. I always calculate that before deciding to buy online or in store.
My ex ordered a $200 replacement lamp for his tv and was charged $55 in brokerage fees, that's about the worst i've seen. I have never been charged for anything besides designer denim.

I had the worst experience with having a rebounder shipped to me by FedEx from the US last fall. (I was told they were the only company that would ship something that big.) When they were done with their all their charges, that rebounder cost double the listed price. And then, after I'd paid, they sent me a bill asking me to pay again. After I wasted time getting that sorted out, I got a nasty letter from them a few months later threatening legal action if I didn't pay what they thought I still owed them. So I had to waste more time. They didn't even apologize. I'd do anything I could to avoid using FedEx!

The charge from FedEx is not actually FedEx's charges. The charges they are asking for upon delivery are duty & taxes that Canada Customs charged to THEM when the packaged cleared customs, and they had to pay to Canada Customs on your behalf, so they are just collecting it back from you. Be mad at Canada Customs, but FedEx is not the criminal there.
