What does your day look like? do you mono eat your greens as well, or just drink green smoothies?

I have IBS, and I went to a nutritionist and she suggested mono meals, However, She didnt really give me a good answer about what my diet should look like ...................Crappy..but thats a whole other issue!! lol I kinda stopped listening after some meat eating babble..........like ...OK, CLOG ME WITH MEAT, go ahead........arent we trying to unclog me? hahaha

Looking forward to some answers!

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't worry too much about the specifics of mono-meals. As long as most of your meals are mono it is all good. If anything, green smoothies are good for you as they are already 'pre-digested' in the blender.
I LOVE having just grapefruits. I could eat a gajillion in one sitting. yum! However, I can't see myself munching on a head of lettuce. Some people can for sure, but i'm just not there yet.

I was mono eating meals for awhile. I would just have one type of food at each meal. Like a whole thing of grapes for dinner. Just one food, but different foods at each meal.

Now I'm more into salads...but mono eating was good for me while I was on the run. By the way, I'm not even 100% sure this is mono eating, lol. But good luck with IBS....that is definitely a rough condition. :[

hi sarahrjm,
when i mono-meal i just eat one fruit until i feel satisfied. normally when mono-mealing your body will know when you've had enough because all of a sudden the fruit won't be as appealing or might not taste as good. it's hard to over eat when you are mono-mealing on fruit.
after eating fruit, i will normally eat some leafy greens...i love them just plain! my tastes buds have change so much! i didn't enjoy them as much when i was eating spices, onions, salt, etc...but now i absolutely love them as they are :)
on the days i mono meal i might eat 1 large melon for bfast, bananas and leafy greens for lunch and mangos for supper. i also change up the fruits i eat.
i would def. be drinking green smoothies if i was at home with my vitamix, but without access to it i find myself mono mealing a lot.
hope that helped!
