I am going to be purchasing one very soon. I am going to get the 5200 and am wondering if you need the dry container? And if anyone has the smaller wet container and how much you use it?

Thanks AGAIN!!

Hey there,

I just actually purchased the 5200 vitamix and asked the same question-I would give you the link, but I have no idea how. Well, from everyone on the board they state no and they do not use it that much. I also asked the people at vitamix and unless you want to kneed bread you really do not need it. It is up to you however. I love mine and the wet container which comes with it you can do so much. I am excited for you because I love mind. Making green smoothies is wonderful!!

If you are interested also I ordered the reconditoned one and it comes with the same warranty and it works great and you would never know. The person at vitamix that I ordered from also has one and has had it for 18 years and loves it.

Good luck and have fun :)

I have the dry container and smaller wet container. I use both very little actually. I mainly use the larger container for everyday use.

The dry container is good for grinding seeds in such as flax seed/sunflower seeds, etc but a small inexpensive coffee grinder can do that. The small wet container is good if you want it to fit under your cabinets. I also use that container if I have any leftover smoothie that I want to store for a day (in the fridgerator and blend the next day).

You really could do without both in my opinion.
