I happened to stop by the library yesterday, and I was ecstatic to find two great books on raw food! One is "The Raw Food Primer" by Suzanne Alex Ferrara. It is a great book for newbies like me, because it's simple and uncomplicated with lots of easy (few ingredients) recipes. I think the reason it left me with the excited feeling that "I can do this!" is that the book does not overwhelm you. If you are new and struggling with this whole new lifestyle, and uncooking food, some you've never even heard of, this really does simplify it for you. It primes you to want to start with those baby steps. She has a raw food pantry list in the back, which will be helpful on grocery day. I'm excited to try a few recipes. Like other newbies who have posted in the last couple of days, I have had my share of "even the dog won't eat this" experiences with recipes. But I have had some great ones, too, and I'm not giving up - I feel too good to go back!! My hubby is even trying them, and I know it will be just weeks before he's a convert too. That will be wonderful.

The other book is "The Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine", by Gabriel Cousens. It has tons of recipes in it, too, but I really like it for his knowledge about raw and what it does for us. I felt so fortunate to find these two books at the library, as I'm saving up for a food processor, so I'm trying not to buy anymore books til then. I am so glad I found you guys for guidance and support!

Hey, that's fantastic! I haven't read the raw food primer but Cousens is one of the few raw foods authors I consider a true expert. I had a similar "awakening" when I first realized eating raw foods was doable even for relatively lazy person such as myself. :) What a great feeling! Thanks for sharing.
