...spectrum coconut oil is raw?
also, i had bought nature's way coconut oil before and it said raw. now i'm looking online and don't see that they say it is raw. i'm ordering some things through vitamin shoppe and was hoping to find out today as my coupon expires ;)
if anyone knows i would love to hear from you.
(also, i've already found out that nutiva's isn't raw even though they say on their site it is...at least back in the summer...i contacted them and they said that it was NOT raw).
thanks!

hi spicyfull,
i'm hoping my mom will call them as she's in the states...i'm in madrid right now...and she is doing the ordering...but anyway, if anyone has contacted spectrum or nature's way before i'd be happy to know what they've said.
thanks!

Your post caught my eye because I use it. I went to the website and found this. So I guess I won't be using it anymore :( Ya live and learn.

sorry dont know about spectrum, but artisanas coconut butter is THE BEST, hands down. but it is the whole coconut, actually coconut butter, not just the oil, so that might not be what youre looking for. i cant stand nutivas pure oil or any other pure coconut oil, they all made me feel nauseous. but artisanas is like candy right out of the jar :)

I have both Spectrum and Artisana coconut oil right now. I don't care for the taste of the Spectrum at all. I love the Artisana!:) Artisana actually sells both coconut oil and coconut butter - both are delicious. Right now I'm just using the Spectrum for external use....on my body and hair. It's fine for that. I do have a question though - I put my coconut oil in a glass jar when I am ready to use it. I run the jar (with the top on, of course!) under hot water to melt it. This isn't messing up the "raw ness" of it, is it?

Buffalogal, if you read the link I posted, you'll see Spectrum pasteurizes their coconut oil. So if that is the one you are using under hot water, it really doesn't matter
