As a former Arby's fan I have been wanting to top some of my foods with Horsey Sauce, but of course, it's not raw....:(

Does anyone here have a recipe for horseradish sauce that will come close to that?

I'm salivating as I wait for replies.

I haven't seen a raw horsey sauce recipe as of yet...but how about finding out the ingredients for it and making a raw replica (if possible)? If not, give it a big smacker good bye and maybe you'll stumble upon a different kind of (raw) sauce recipe that you'll enjoy just as much if not more! ;)

Okay, here's a headstart:

Horseradish
by Vita-Mix taken from: The Complete Book of Raw Food

Ingredients:
1 c. horseradish root, peeled and cut into pieces
1/2 c. vinegar (apple cider is probably best for optimal rawness I assume!)
1 TBS. sweetener (honey, agave, etc.)
1/4 tsp. sea salt

(Note: The instructions are clearly for the use of a Vita-mix blender as they mention certain "vita-mix" settings, etc. but I am going to modify it so anyone can use this recipe with or without a vita-mix)

Process horseradish pieces in processor or pulse chop in blender until grated (or grate with other appliance that grates)

Add remaining ingredients and blend/process until well mixed. Refrigerate in an airtight container.

You could probably blend the above with some soaked cashews and get a creamy effect.

Wow...step away for the weekend and almost miss one of the most important recipe's you are wanting ! ! !

Rawkinlocs, thanks for that, I appreciate it and will give it a try the next time I buy another Horseradish spike (By the way, they get fuzzy in the refridgerator if you don't use them quick enough !)

Sharon, I think I'm going to try that...I like it smooth, but whatever I have to do, I just like the flavor....so, if I have to use not so smooth, well, I'll live with it.

RVM, glad we see eye to eye here ! ! I am doing the same right now as I think about it.

Thanks Everyone ! I'll let ya know how it turns out.
