Tv programming, radio programming...h-m-m-m-m...wonder why they call it programming? Saw a shirt today that said "tv ruined my life". Funny. Not so funny.

What is programming? It is about being told over and over in many ways what to do,buy, how to be,where to go,what to look like, whos whos and what they are doing, etc etc etc.want want, buy buy buy, have have have toss toss toss.want more, get more, toss more.

So,heres a million dollar question. Are we being programmed in the raw lifestyle?
We might be.

Only if we buy into that we need to do this "right",the way someone else does, need to have every gadget, pick over every technicality, make other people wrong for how they do it,say ours is the "right" way and insist on it,be a follower and look at the "gurus" of raw as gods, act superior to others who do something else, beat ourselves for not being a percentage, wearing a label and making sure people know our label.

Are we unique if we all do it the same way?

Please,be YOU. Its so easy to be you and such a hard job to be somebody else. Love the skin you are in. Have your own experience. Not being confused by all the data. Take what you want and leave the rest. Listen to your body.
Take in what works for you. Try not to do it "right". It will be right for you, whatever your personal journey in raw is.Its yours.

Oh and kiss yourself every day! K=keep I=it S=imple S=stupid...oh but you are far from stupid.

And arent you so happy you are not programmed? Especially with s.a.d. wooohoooo

What do you all think on this topic??????

We are very easy to program. (Human beings)

I don't like watching a lot of TV, though I do enjoy college football and certain movies. But I've really been much more aware of the programming the media has put onto our lives. The average American is a zombie, what to buy, what to wear, how to act, how to eat.

Another lovely post, artgirly.

I don't watch TV, but I use yahoo for one of my email accounts. Dang if I don't get sucked in to read the ridiculous gossip articles sometimes!

Programming comes from every direction.

I even was doing a bible study tonight that is on mapping out a sort of blueprint for each part of life. Chapter 7 was the section on Health. Boy, was that interesting to see what the writer had to say about diet! Making sure we get all the four food groups. There was another section that mentioned making sure to go to the doctor every year to make sure we're up to date on immunizations and other details. This was all the writer's opinion and many of the details like those I mentioned were certainly not referencing scripture. I sure don't take that as the gospel... but it was interesting to read with my perspective as a raw foodist.

(Moderators, I hope you don't mind my use of religious info above. I am definitely not advocating or criticizing any religion, just sharing my experience on the subject. I hope I did not cross over any lines!)

To answer your question, artgirly... yes... I think in the end... we can just be US! We all have a unique fingerprint, and I believe that while most of us have the same basic needs, we are most definitely unique. We can choose to enjoy the ride and click the "mute" button when programming is not our style. (Or roll our eyes and move on!:p)

I myself have very little patience for watching TV, unless it HouseHunters International or HouseHunters which I watch both online:D. I have basic cable only 20 bucks a month. I do enjoy football (NFL) or baseball (MLB) occasionally:), or I head to a high school game somewhere in the neighborhood.

see this is a perfect example.People get what they get,see what they see and use what they use.So cool. This wasnt about tv but about being programmed by anything in this world as well as examining how much (media or ideas )we allow to rock our boat around eating raw.You are all too cool. You won the prize.Vibrant health haha.

We cut the cable 8 years ago... no more TV! :)

When I shared this with a co-worker, he exclaimed, "No TV? But...but... how do you know what to BUY??" [he was being facetious, but he did make a point there]

To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

Just notice for a minute. Commercials on tv.radio. Sickness geared, almost every one. Medicine, sickness, chemicals to "clean" our homes with. Programming. Where the mind goes, the body follows. I dont listen.
