Well I cant wait to hear all your reasons:
Heres a few of mine:
I am free from wondering what the right foods to eat are
I dont count calories,or fat or anything and I eat all I want and I am thin
Money is spent on veggies and fruits not drs and hospitals
My conversation is about love and peace and joy not sickness and sorrow
My oven makes a good storage cabinet
I feel clean and light and airy not numbed out, drugged, clogged and sick on s.a.d.
The stove was broken and it didnt matter as it as good place for my dehy to sit.
Love shopping in markets and health food stores and no corporate or busy supermarkets.
My house smells earthy and amazingly fresh and green instead of char oven broiled chicken or beef...eeeeek
Beauty is not a concern I have or worked for or fuss over,it happens naturally.
No longer a slave to food(addictions and cravings) but my body wants instinctively the good things it is needing.
ok your turn............pssst,I love being free since I got my butterfly wings....(I was free before too,I just did not know it)

Raw food is freedom for me because I don't have to read food labels for an hour every day trying to find foods I'm not allergic to. When food is in it's whole form, nothing is hiding in the fine print.

freedom from listening to well meaning (or not so..) advice from the world about protein and food pyramids and calcium
and listening to my body only.
if i want to eat grapefruit all day i'll do so for as many days as i need to until i begin to hear a request for cucumbers...

Freedom from having to find a vegetarian restaurant when I go to a new town. I just have to head for the nearest supermarket.
Freedom to just go to the produce section in my supermarket and then straight to the checkout. I have a gleam in my eye as I skip past the other sections.
Freedom from Hot Flashes.

Freedom from oily skin and break outs.
Freedom from puffy eyes (that I didn't even know I had until they got big and clear).
Freedom from having to read labels and count calories to find safe foods.

Freedom from trying to find cosmetics to cover up blemishes, minimize the appearance of aging, etc because the foods I eat are busy reversing and eliminating those problems and bringing out a natural glow insted.

That's somewhat true for me. I am allergic to almonds and they are in a lot of raw prepared foods.

cuz i no longer have to scrape a fu cking pan with the crusties all sticking to the sides all gnarley like they'd be sticking in my intestines....
::shudder::
cuz when you eat a tomato you don't have to wonder what it is made out of or what is in it.
cuz you don't even have to use a plate.
cuz everything is perfectly and magically there for you!
cuz it's so symbiotically balanced harmoniously i could just sing through my heart pipes.
cuz everything is colorful.
lol
i was watching this silly reality show. it's called supersize v superskinny, and they take a thin person and a fat person, and make them eat each other's foods.
the thin girl in one ep was obsessed with eating fruits. then when she got the other guy's meal which was a bunch of fried garbage she was all like ".......where's all the color? this is so boring..."

I no longer have to focus my day around food with all of the cooking and cleaning and preparing. If I am feeling lazy, I can grab a banana or two and call it a meal and be satisfied.

It makes everyday a picnic.
I eat simple raw so meals are as easy as pulling grapes from a cluster. Theres very little planning, preparation, or cleanup. All I have to do is keep plenty of the raw foods that I like on hand and reach for them when I feel hungry. Whats not to like about that ?

Juliew -- The reasons it helps with the food obsession/bulimia for me is that I tend not to binge, and when I do I'm not terrified that I am going to be huge in the morning. I think more about nutrition when I am eating raw, so it feels like a waste to purge it. Not all of my thinking is logical, but there is something that will not allow me to purge raw food.
My skin is clear even when I eat oils, nuts, fats. BUT if I have milk or some cooked crap, my skin looks terrible!!!
The depression lifts for two reasons I think--1. because the food is healthy and high vibration 2. I'm not stuck in a binge-purge cycle.
I started eating raw in '05, but I have had many slips, and I have eaten too much gourmet. The last couple days I have been leaning more towards fruitarian (I am eating fruit, mostly mono-meals, and green leafs). I am feeling much better this way.

Amberly I love that. I would not want to ever throw up raw food even if I had the purge thing. It is so yummy and costs more...haha Good for you. Glad you are here in support of those with these kinds of challenges..awwww
I too feel much better on simple. High gourmet is too heavy for me. I love the light airy feeling. Good post.

It's a freedom kind of way of eating.
No worries of all the preservatives etc. in our foods.

The freedom to be unique and not "follow the herd"
and the giggles when you tell your friends what's in your smoothie :p :D
