I have been reading this site a couple of months before I was finally convinced that I should give raw a chance to work for me. Today I am 35 days 100% raw! I was really encouraged to go raw after reading all of your positive comments about the benefits and mostly influenced because there was so much positive interaction at this site. Thanks to Alissa for providing this site as a support to us to continue on this road and not feel alone.
I am on this journey for the long haul because I have never found anything where I have seen results immediately and felt so good. Of course detoxing was no fun - but it is worth it after it was over for now. Also, I am diabetic and because of the weight loss or I should say, "shrinkage" in my body my blood sugar is staying at 79-95. As of yet I cannot eat fruit or very little in order to maintain my blood sugar within normal. But according to the experiences in Alissa's book someday I will be able to eat watermelon and have fruit smoothies! I sure do look forward to that day!
Well I look forward to interacting with all you as I'm sure I will have lots of questions! :)

Welcome,

Congratulations on your journey so far. I am wondering if you don't eat fruit, can you tell me what other things you have been eating? I would like to add more vegetables to my diet.

Thanks,

Angelique

Welcome,

Congratulations on your journey so far. I am wondering if you don't eat fruit, can you tell me what other things you have been eating? I would like to add more vegetables to my diet.

Thanks,

I would start my morning with a couple of tablespoons of sprouted buckwheat, with hazelnuts, pecans and walnuts. I add almond milk. I've recently changed to sprouted to sunflower seeds for breakfast along with the nuts and almond milk. For the first time do not have to worry about my blood sugar. I may begin to add small pieces of banana to see how I do.
I always have some sort of vegetables for lunch like a cucumber with tomatoe and pico-de-gallo. Or a large salad.
I always juice at least once a day - spinach, kale, parsley, cucumber, etc.
I feel great, better than I ever have.

Welcome,
I am so happy for you. To be able to make such changes to your health just shows the power of food, real food, not the boxed junk at the grocery store. I am new to this site and to eatting raw, I started yesterday. I can tell you that after reading about all the positive results of eatting raw, this is the way to go. Thank you for posting your story, it is an inspiration to the rest of us.

That is awesome! I too found that raw helped balance my blood sugar. I am not diabetic, but I have PCOS which is triggered by my pancreas and insulin resistance.

Personally, I think much of why raw sugars seem to do well by me is the high amount of fiber in the raw diet, and in the fruit. Fiber absorbs the sugar, slowing its release into the bloodstream. This is why fiber is so highly recommended for diabetics and those with insulin resistance.

Congratulations on coming this far, you will no doubt continue to see benefits the longer you are on this path!

Cassy:)
