Hello, I am a 48 year old vegetarian who is also a Type 2 diabetic and on 4 meds for blood pressure.
I am sick and tired of taking the meds and want to begin a raw food diet.
I no nothing about a raw food diet, especially what to eat for breakfast.
I am a terrible cook, so I hope to find help on this forum.

Welcome!
First off - get Alissa's book and DVDs. Absolutely amazing tools for you on this healing journey.
Second - you don't need to be a cook. Can you pick up a banana, peel it, put it in a blender with strawberries and water? Then you got a smoothie.
You'll be fine.
Get the book...

Welcome!! I wish you the best of rawesome health!!
Put a handful or so of baby spinach (stems removed if you are using a standard blender) into your fruit smoothies. We call these green smoothies - might go easier on you.

thanks, I'll try that. My first major purchase will be a Vitamix. I hear that it is essential for the best smoothies.

Alissa's book goes into some advice on how to handle a raw food diet while being diabetic. From the looks of the testimonials and stories she included, you won't have to worry about being diabetic for too long. She says to add fat to your fruit in the beginning (slows down the sugar absorption in the body), so in addition to the strawberries and banana in your smoothie, maybe you could add some raw almond butter. Good luck on your raw food journey!
