Tomorrow is my "anniversary".... 30 days "high raw". The past month's food choices have been:

Green smoothies for breakfast
Salads or fruit (banana, apple, nectarine, cauliflower, oranges) for lunch
Green smoothie after work
Baked potato, and some combination of brocolli, cauliflower, tomato, cucumber, avocado for supper.

I'm not getting a lot of fats (other than the occasional avacodo). I see that some here have suggested adding olive oil to smoothies. Can I use sesame/sunflower oil, since that's what I have on hand for oil pulling???

I still do baked salmon or skinless chicken 1-2x/week. And I won't lie, I've snitched a chocolate chip cookie a couple times, and I still enjoy my black coffee. But, overall, this is the best I've eaten in years and I can feel the difference. The current weight in my signature line says, 158. This morning the scale said 155.5... and has varied between 153 and 156. Probably water weight...? If I can get the scale to dip below the 150 lbs mark, you'll hear me screaming as though I'd won the lottery. :D I haven't been below 150 in years.

Thank you Kimberly. You inspire me, girl. I've looked at your "befores & afters" on this board several times, and just finished visiting your site/blog. The difference in your befores & afters is absolutely stunning ! You are now at the weight that I hope to be at someday. The change you made in your physical appearance is staggering. But, what really stands out is the calm and serenity in your eyes. I hope to acheive that same sense of peace.

I've noticed the similar starting/current weights between us as well. The 150 lbs. mark "teases" me when I see 153 on the scale.

I really appreciate your kind reply and I can tell you that the serenity you see in my eyes is 100% from living this lifestyle! Believe me, with two boys (9 & 18), I really needed "calm and serenity"!!
Best of luck, I hope to continue to inspire you, you can always contact me through my site if you wish!

yes 153 is SUCH a tease. But honestly I play these games with myself waaay to much, lol. Like if it's the high end of the ten, the midway mark is the tease, if I'm midway it's the low end, and if it's the low end it's the tens lower! No matter where I am on the scale, lol.

Well...unless I am at my perfect weight...lol...ways to go before I'm there though.

Bonus though, FINALLY I am getting some rewarding weights for all my gaming with the scale!

so CHEERS!!!! Maybe we could start a 'get to the 140's support group' lol...

Congrads on 30 days and yep. I agree with Aleesha! Your body is working doubletime trying to digest the cooked foods and reaping from the raw foods.

When one eats raw - they are eating foods complete with THEIR enzymes, allowing for good digestion so the body can use ITS supply of enzymes to heal and provide energy...

Keep up the good work though!

Thanks for the input ladies.

What are the "rules" to the 30 day challenge? 100% raw (I start my job at 6:30a, which means I'm up at 5am, please tell me that I can keep my 16 oz mug of black coffee)? Can you provide a link to a thread that talks about it? I'll go do a little searching too.

you can 'do' whatever you wish... you just don't share about anything you take in that is not raw is all.

it's a thread about support and triumphs, not slip ups and non-raw choices.

It's hard to believe but many people find that once they get rid of the coffee and are very high raw their energy and pep, even in the morning is much better than it was before. Coffee keeps you awake the way that cigarettes keep a smoker relaxed: only by comparison to the withdrawal do you think that you need it.
