Hi! So this is my 2nd day and loving it so far. It is hard, I will admit, but I think it's just because I am trying to get some tasty recipes and everything figured out....

So, with that said I want a good morning juice that will help clean me out....I have grapefruits, oranges, lemons, apples, kale, bananas and blueberries in my house right now. Any suggestions...

OH and nothing sour or too green tasting, I think I have to work myself up for that....I am not used to drinking veggies...if that makes sense???

Thanks!

EVERYthing you juice will clean you out. instead of focusing on a specific blend why not focus on what tastes you love!

i drink a lot of cantaloupe juice... it's sooooo yummy.

pineapple with a hint of strawberry... divine!

and of course there's always my personal favourite (in this moment) cranberry/apple/ginger mmm mmmm gooood! 50% cran 50% apple and a good chunk of ginger (approx 1" thick chunk)

Every morning I have 1 lemon juiced with 3 cups of water and a dash of cayenne to help cleanse and kick start my digestive system. Later I juice another lemon with 2 cups of water and tablespoon of chlorella and spirulina.

Lemon is a diuretic. This means it is good for people with urinary tract infections and high uric acid problems, such as those with arthritis or rheumatism because it helps flush out all the toxins and bad bacteria. Lemon juice is a great liver tonic. Lemons are very high in vitamin C which travels through the body neutralizing any free radicals with which it comes into contact in the aqueous environments in the body both inside and outside cells. Vitamin C is also vital to the function of a strong immune system.

Lemons to me are like gold :D

Careful when juicing grapefruit, oranges without diluting it with water... as this could upset your liver with the concentrated amounts of sugar.

Hope this helps... :)

Great info from the both of you..thank you so much!

Rawster, so if I am going to use grapefruit juice, how much water to a grapefruit should I add? Will it just irritate me or really hurt me internally?

Thanks so much....I didn't think there were any "rules" to juice, I just really never did it. I just got a juicer and want to use it....

They all sound yummy!

i drink undiluted oj and grapefruit juice often... and sometimes i dilute it only because once in awhile it upsets my tummy...

racing - i just add about 1/4 water to the 3/4 juice.

i don't believe ANY juice in full strength is going to harm you unless you have some condition which is contrary to something. in other words, if you are a regular human with no major issues... i can't see you drinking juice straight being a problem. i've always (until this last fast) drank all my juices full strength. the only reason i started watering down my oj is because it was upsetting my tummy.

but that's my uneducated opinion :)

There's really no right or wrong way of doing things, you just have to listen to your body.
I say not diluting your fruit juices could upset your liver because in my experience (as well as my boyfriend's) when we were juicing oranges and not diluting almost every morning (this was our breakfast) for a couple months both our livers were shot - the lowest they have ever been. It was too much sugar for us. We only have OJ (its just so much tastier without diluting it) on special occasions. :)

RAWSAR I am sorry I spelled your screen name on here wrong...I apologize....

I get what you are saying though. I have to just see how my body takes it...If it doesn't do good, then I will dilute it....

Thanks so much, both of you really!!! I appreciate it

rawsar, i didn't mean for you to take my post as saying anyone was right or wrong. our experiences are different... although i'm very surprised to hear that it would make your liver shot in a couple of months. i'll have to go do some research on this and see if there are others who have had this same experience...

i am still looking but i can't find anything to support what you are saying. do you have any links to this info rawsar? the reason i ask is i healed my severely damaged liver with juicing and raw foods... so hearing that juice caused you liver damage... confuses me.

i'm so trying to find the answer for this: so far all i've found is someone who healed (http://www.fattyliver.net/) their fatty liver by drinking oj every day.

i'll keep looking though. cause 'inquiring minds' want to know *giggling*

i gave up holyguac... i couldn't find anything saying oj was bad for the liver... or grapefruit for that matter.

obviously it was their experience but i don't think it would have that effect on others.

The best cleansing juices are the ones which require little energy for your body to absorb. So any juice packed with nutrition and taken individually will do. Cantaloupe (http://www.peertrainer.com/DFcaloriecounterB.aspx?id=2134) is my personal favorite. :D

Mixing disregards food combining rules and makes it hard for the body to assimilate. :o

Everyone's different of course.
It was about a year ago that this happened and I know my boyfriend hadn't been working out much during this time however I had been but not hard enough with the amount of sugar I was consuming.
It wasn't anything noticeable, we felt great at the time but when we had gone to see our naturolpath for an EDS test both our livers were at a very low level.
During this time we had switched completely from a diet that Hippocrates recommend to the 80/10/10 diet that Dr Doug Gram recommends so it was just too much sugar for us all at one time with not enough physical activity.

Too much sugar for us with not enough physical activity resulted in an unhealthy situation for us - This is our experience.

"There's really no right or wrong way of doing things, you just have to listen to your body."
- That comment was for racingdiva999

"rawsar, i didn't mean for you to take my post as saying anyone was right or wrong. our experiences are different..."
Exactly, our experiences are different and its great to share and learn other's experiences. I made that comment because I think some people fret about doing things "the right way" but really.... there is no right or wrong way we do things our own way because it makes us feel good and that's all that matters :)

Hope there's no hard feelings here :o
