Just new to the diet.. I have noticed some potent side effects to eating a raw diet.. I am speculating that these might be powerful detoxing effects.. one of which nearly triggered a panick attack, I had an entirely raw veg meal and after felt a profound kind of head rush after and what I can only describe as being completely spaced out. It was almost like a mild tranquilising effect which took a while to go away.. after words I was immediately tired and crashed out at 8.30pm and slept for 11 hours.. I feel ok this morning.

I have had similar types of effect of other raw foods but not quite as profound as last night.. It could be something else Im aware of that, maybe a virus or something, but It was genuinely a bit scary as I was in a profoundly altered state..

My diet of previous years has been very poor so maybe that has clogged my system for so long..

I can not understand or explain this.
Did you have mushrooms.
I have never had an experience like this.

I have experienced this too! But I also experienced it before I was raw.. I always thought it was extremely low blood sugar, or some imbalance. It's always a very floaty feeling, like a slow headrush that can last for half an hour or more and then extreme fatigue to the point where I can hardly move, and the only thing I can do is sleep!

I felt similar...I think my panic attack arose from extreme stress several months prior from going raw and when I started this new lifestyle it just poured out. For about a week I was an emotional roller coaster. I guess everyone detoxes differently. Now I am good, thankfully!! :cool:

Sounds like low blood sugar. It is healing if you're experiencing detox symptoms. Detox can come all at once or it can come in waves. It sometimes takes years to completely heal, so don't let it worry you.

Eat more raw fats and greens for grounding.

Green smoothies are great! - you can add anything to them.

Make sure you eat more regularly if you're not. Increase the green smoothies.

fruits = cleansing

greens = healing

I have been making GS every morning and it seems to be helping. Like I said, I am good now, but the first week was a lil rough. I will have to remember what greens are good for and fruit.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. :D

My response was addressing the OP's (mboy) original post.

You're welcome and glad to hear that you're feeling better! The difference between greens & fruits is a standard with understanding the cleansing/healing equation, but remember all bodies are not created equal. You may experience something different and that's okay. I have noticed that it does seem to apply to my system and body overall. When I want to cleanse I up the ante on the fruit for example and I have more energy. Carbs in the fruit ya know.

Continue to feel better.

Peace.

Many times I have euphoric bliss on high raw. It is nice.Sometimes it does feel like anxiety but I know its energy. I eat beets or carrots to ground me at bit if needed.
Really its so great now that we are not sick but detoxing sickness from our bodies...which DOES look the same.

Sounds similar to the detox I went though the first time I went completely raw. I was light headed and wanted to sleep. I figured it is due to the fact that there are lots of toxins stored in our bodies and when we go raw they get released. I found the drinking lots of water helped. You body is also signalling you to sleep so it can do some healing.
