I had to run up to the store to get emergency cat food til tommorrow- when I can get to the store with the good stuff- anyway, they had 10 pound bags of oranges on sale for 3.60- so of course, I had to get one=)

As I am coming out, a little girl that was selling girl scout cookies with her mom looks at me and says- can I have an orange? I had no idea what to say, meanwhile mom is fussing at her for asking a stranger for something. I smiled and said, well its a good thing to ask for, and went to my car. As I am driving off, I thought- wth? Did I just refuse a little girl fruit? AM I THAT broke? NO! I turned around, drove back to where she was was, and tossed her an ornage out of my window. The look on her face was amazing- she lit up like it was Christmas.

Made my whole day....just an orange....:)

You had a good comeback considering you must have been a bit shocked. So kind of you to go back. The little girl will probably never forget that orange. :)'

I'm going to check this past week's flyers for specials on oranges.

it was at safeway- it may have ended today, but they have had this sale before.

I love that.Sharing good food is nice.Sometimes I find myself hanging onto my rawfood because it is costly and those folks would much prefer Mickeydees.But I am figuring if I share it,they migh tlike it,turn their diet around and be well..and I am soooo up for that.

oohhh, i love that story. she's always going to remember that. small things like that are the things that people always remember. :) just think of how that love will be spread:)

I remember buying oranges and bananas for the little children when we were in the caribbean,-they LOVED them!
