Hey all!! I keep forgetting to check in! I am doing fabulous this challenge! I am on about Day 29 for me....continuing on though...through this month and starting next...and the next....but really just keeping it "fresh" one month at a time.

The other day I went to "Deep Roots Market"...a place I've never been to, and they had lots of organic veggies, and raw nuts and seeds and a refrigerator section with RAW saurkraut and kimchee in!! I could not afford the saurkraut but I could afford the kimchee...and I've never tried it before! YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY!! I am definitely making this myself next time I go to the grocery store to buy the supplies to make it. I also made a "cheesy sauce" with just ground sunflower seeds, nutritional yeast, salt, cumin, and a dash of hot sauce. Talk about scrumptious! I put the kimchee on a romain leaf....drizzled on some cheezy sauce, and chowed down. So today and yesterday I've even just put the kimchee in a bowl and put on a dab of cheeze. I'm lovin' that!

Peace to all....that's about all the greatness I have to share. I'm really doing great the last few weeks on raw, I'm a new person!

in my opinion kimchi is WAY tastier than boring old sauerkraut. :-)

my afternoon yesterday turned out better than planned. We ended up watching the b-ball game at my husband's office (on their projector screen) rather than going to the bar. That was great because I just took a salad w/ me to his office.

Then, I ended up with an hour between the game & the home owner's meeting, so I was able to make dinner before the mtg. I knew there was going to be dessert at the mtg so I took a raw cookie with me in my coat.

I'm so happy today is Friday!
For b-fast I had a bowl of chia w/ raspberries & banana.
For lunch I'm having a caesar wrap, hemp seed tabouli and chocolate mouse. (all from a raw restaurant)

For dinner I'll probably just have some juice since lunch will be so filling.

I'm somewhere around day 30.....I've lost count, when usually I'm on the countdown, just hanging on for dear life!!

Today I've had:
GS: spinach, kale, tomato, celery, carrot....sesame seeds, flax seeds, cumin, salt.

Kimchi w/ sunflower seed cheeze!!! YUMMY!

Dinner: ??? Not sure, maybe more kimchi on a salad??

I'm in love with kimchi....gotta make some this weekend!!

I am in the most amazing mood right now! I'm a little hungry, so I'll have another sandwich when I get home, I think. The grapefruit was just right for lunch though.

Happy first day of spring every one!

Just ordered some chia, going to give it a try and see how we like it.
People that use it--can you substitute it for flax in most flax recipes?

hoowee almost missed the thread :D
well, after having ruined my gorgeous strawberry pie (my freezer was too iced so the drawer didn't open and close properly. when i tried to close it i had to push it so hard, that i spilled the still liquidy strawberries and had to clean everything ... so i also defrosted the fridge at the same time, but i lost my cake ) i made something a little more simple so first time tried a banana chocolate pudding ... and guys, it worked out perfectly!!!! :D
other i made a nice salad and tried a mayonnaise with pumpkin seeds ...
tomorrow i will have to go shopping, i have too little stuff left here
so, y'all take good care of yourself and good luck to us all

jeeehaawww!!! i've made it so far, despite my own expectations ... :D
today i bought some really gorgeous looking strawberries, so i will try for the cake again ... now that my freezer should open easily again ...
i also bought lots of other fruits and veggies so i should be prepared for next week.
today i think i will experiment with carrots and celery ... not sure yet ... i'm also still craving taco shells and enchiladas, but to get corn here at this time of the year is nearly impossible unless you buy frozen ones ... unluckily my freezer is not large enough to buy so much frozen stuff ... *sigh* :(
anyway, y'all have a great day and good luck for us all :D

day 21!!

I slowed down on my nut eating (I was snacking on them whenever I got hungry) and I am now down another 3 lbs for a total of 11 lbs in 21 days! I am so excited with my progress.

Today I ran 15 miles and I ate an avocado before I ran then nuts and craisens during my run and some apple lemonade afterwords and I feel ok, but a bit tired.

I went to the market for produce and bought over 100 lbs of produce on Wed including a 40 lb box of oranges so I can have OJ whenever I want. I have 3 fruitaholic kids and a husband so I will not be eating all 10o lbs myself. It did feel good to be buying so much produce that I know we will go through.

Now I am off to clean my house as I am hosting a babyshower tomorrow!

Hey all!! Wow Madbovine!!! 100lbs!!! Of course I've never thought to add up all the lbs. of produce that I've bought before, I might surprise myself and eat about 30lbs. by myself!~

Anyway, today I've really had a trying day. We were at our church's yardsale, where the food they were selling was all sad, meat heavy items that I won't describe. I skipped eating until I could get home and have some sunflower seed cheeze with kimchi! Loving that, but alas, I have eaten all my kimchi and hopefully can recreate the tastey dish using Alissa's recipe!

Dinner tonight will be???? Maybe some easy green salad w/ carrots, celery, avo...???

Hope everyone has had a great Saturday....Day 31 for me, and I'm better at this raw thing than I ever thought I would be! It's taken me a couple of years to "get it right"

GS for breakfast this morning. Not the best, not the worst. Yesterday's was truly delicious. For lunch I made some little tomato, lettuce and cheeze sandwiches with the wheat crackers from Alissa Cohen's book. They do such an amazing job of satisfying cravings for bread. They are just delicious slices of artisan bread crust.

Big sunflower seed and lettuce salad with ginger dressing.

Still going strong! I made some wonderful raw pizzas today. I used Pesto on one and Marinara on the other. I topped both with red bell peppers and a rainbow of heirloom tomatoes. They are soooo delicious!

Hello!

I started the day with a celery parsley juice (about 2/3 liter)

a couple of hours later a shot of wheatgrass

then I had some aloe vera juice

napped for hours

and I'm drinking grapefruit/ginger juice now.

tonight a salad or something.

today I bought some Chia and Hemp. Made Hemp milk with blackberry syrup. Very yummy. Been munching on kale chips and have some banana leathers in the dehydrator. Also had a couple of Chia lemonades--yummy.

Also had a load of goofy energy today. I think I am going into my next cycle of feeling good. Which is extra excellent, as my ASL exam is this week.

today is starting out well. Last night we made an amazing taco salad for dinner. Thinking about it, even now makes me feel satisfied ;-)

Breakfast was a quick banana crêpe with almond butter-chocolate filling and dipped in blackberry syrup. That was incredibly, deliciously decadent.

Now I am sipping on lemonade with maple, lemon and CHIA. I love the texture and taste of it. It makes me think a little bit of bubble tea. Yum!

I am still feasting on my raw pizzas that I made Saturday. My roommate told me that instead of paying him $20 for the cable bill I could just make him another raw pizza! I think for dinner tonight I am going to make a banana carob shake. I am craving something chocolaty and I am trying not to have cacao for a while (too many food sensitivities)

Good morning all! I'm so sorry that I keep forgetting to post! I have been doing great!

Yesterday's food was:
herbal tea
GS: romain (trying to use it all up before it goes bad, but I usually use spinach) Kale, tomatoes, celery, carrot, sesame seeds, flax seeds spices....warm, yummy, savory
a flax cracker with "soup"
Lunch: avo sliced with sea salt and nutritional yeast
Dinner: romain salad with KIMCHI on top...nothing else...yummy!! Loving kimchi!!!!

Today, I know I need to drink more water! Today I will write it down....my goal is 80 oz.

Food for the day: (I'm planning)
tea, maybe green juice (feeling the need to keep it light)
GS, another savory one but this time with spinach
Kale wrap with sunflower seed cheese and KIMCHI!!

That's the plan!

Mattshor: Who do you buy your chia from? I'm out and REALLY miss those little "pudding seeds!!" I'd like to try them as lemonade....sounds yummy!

Everybody have a great day!

Hey, I got my chia at the Vitamin Shoppe around the corner from me. I think that if you look around online though you can find much better prices though...

Right now I'm just sipping on 32oz water with a few tbsp chia. It's remarkably refreshing.

Lunch is going to be a salad from Fresh City.

Dinner will be whatever I can scrounge up at NEU. Exam today :-) Hope I do well!

Today is day 87 for me! I can't believe it's been almost 3 months with absolutely no looking back. That's 1/4 of a year. Whoa!

I got up this morning and went for a 2 mile walk and it felt wonderful. My cat, Esme, followed me wholeheartedly for the first 1/2 mile loop and then gave up, defeated. Poor girl, she's so tired now. :D

When I got home I had a 32oz. spinach/cantaloupe/orange green smoothie (with seeds) made in my brand spanking new BlendTec. :::does happy dance::: I think I've used her about a zillion times since she arrived yesterday afternoon.

I'm pretty hungry today and, as a result, am feeling some cravings so I decided to make something really yummy. I've got a plate of Turnip Rawvioli and a pan of Zucchini Spinach Lasagna in the dehydrator right now along with a bowl of marinating mushrooms. Hopefully I'll be able to keep my paws out of there until dinner time and even have some leftover to take to work for lunch tomorrow. The way it's looking right now (yes, I just licked the bowl AND spoon ) there's not much chance of that happening.

I've also passed my 2nd goal weight of 160 and actually made it down to 158. How'd that happen? I felt like I was going to be sitting at 163 for the rest of my life and then all of a sudden :::poof::: there goes 5 lbs. out the window just like that. I originally wanted to hit my 3rd goal weight of 150 by my birthday in 2 weeks but I'm not stressing over it.

Off to clean the house now. My kitchen looks like a cyclone hit it after all that uncooking.

Hey, Cris, congratulations! You always sound so good - and your food always sounds delicious.

Hey all! I'm on day 37..this is the longest I've stayed raw for about 2 years. I've been on such a yo-yo!!

Anyway:
I went to the store today and bought some yummy ORGANIC: celery, cauli, broc., cabbage (going to try saurkraut now!!) and I think that's all for now. I have lots of greens in the fridge already.

Today I'm going to have a mixed salad of broc. cauli, olive oil, sea salt, pepper..

Can't think of anything else...not really hungry today for anything else.

I'm sure I'll eat something else, just not sure what. My D. is broken at the moment so I'm having to rely on just my new VM to make things interesting. ( : I'm so happy that I purchased a high powered machine, it has really taken smoothies and dips to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!

Peace.

Morning RAWbies!!!

Last night I made a GREAT Salad for today... I'm gonna try a new dressing today or maybe put it with a Marinated Portabella...

I also feel like having Lasagna, so I went to the store and got some wonderfully fresh tomatoes.

I bought a watermelon yesterday, but it was not very sweet, so I think I'll take it and make some of Alissa's WONDERFUL Watermelon Soup! If you haven't tried it...DEFINITELY put it on your "TO DO" list!!! :)

Have a RAWsome day!!!

Yesterday made an amazing salad:
baby spinach, celery, green onions, avocado hemp seeds and a ginger/orange/almond/braggs dressing. Devoured that like nobody's business.

Also made some cereal with buckwheat groats, chopped up dates, almond cream, and a drizzle of agave.

Haven't been feeling so great.....nausea.....there's a bug of somekind going around and I feel like I'm fighting it off.

Today I've just had some tea...not really hungry, of course, so I don't know what else I'll eat. Strange thing is, I'm kinda craving plain celery???? What's up with that?? I've never eaten celery plain, weird, but kinda interesting to see how our body works, ya know!!

Peace to all...this month is almost over....who's planning on joining next month. I hope to make it just as great as March!

Good morning all!! Today is DS birthday! He turns 14!!! I can't believe I am the mother of a boy so big (he's as big as I am....well, that's not really hard seeing that I'm 5 feet 1/2 inch tall;))

We are going to do something special for him but it will include visiting my mom who is off work today....no junk food though.

Today I plan on eating:
tea for breakfast with an apple
cauliflower, broccoli, carrot salad (I could just eat cauli by itself with olive oil, sea salt, and pepper!!)
Dinner? Maybe a smoothie?? Yeah, probably a smoothie.

Hopefully I'll post later, if not, I hope everyone has a great day!!

Mattshor: have you tried the recipe on the back of the Kelp noodles? there is one that includes a peanut butter/asian sauce...I have made it substituting the peanut butter for almond butter and other ingredients for Raw ingredients - and then mixing it all together and then dehydrating on a teflex sheet for about 30-45 minutes or so...the noodles get soft and it is like an asian noodle dish.....just my thoughts.....:) Deb
