Hey guys :)

Today would mark exactly 2 months of me going raw, and im loving the journey so far. I have cheated a lot this week though, ive had about 4 cooked meals and my body is protesting in every way possible! my bladder problem seems to be creeping back slowly,... which is bad news for me . anyway,
This is week 2 of me eating again after a 7 day water fast and im finding it hard to eat right. So far ive spent most of my raw journey fasting and feasting or drinking smoothies/juices to transition Out of a fast.
I was green smoothie feasting last week, now I just want to eat.
Ive spent so much money on organic seeds/nuts/fruits e.t.c and Im loving my green smoothies, (ive become quite an expert at them), spirulina, zuchinni pasta and sweet potato salad. But thats all I can seem to make.
Ive been experimenting with lots of raw dishes but i never seem to get them right. they taste nothing like the raw dishes ive tried at raw restaurants. nothing at all , almost unpalatable.
I spent quite a bit of money on ingredients for a raw carrot cake. i made a huge batch that has unfortunately gone to waste because i oversweetened the whole thing.

Im just very frustrated at this point when i eat, physically im full, but psychologically not satisfied. I was a pretty good cook when I used to cook, its frustrating now not being confident about putting together a good meal.
Im having dire financial problems at the moment which doesnt help things, but I intend to stay raw even if it means fasting when I cant afford to whip up something raw.

Im sprouting wheat berries to try essene bread, garbanazos to make pate and some lentils to add to salads. Im getting good at sprouting and i made a huge batch of alfafa last week. Apart from that i just seem to suck at uncooking! going to raw food clases is out the question for me now due to money issues,. what do I do?. Im finding comfort in cooked foods again, which is not what i want, I intend to stay at least 90% raw, should i just stick to green smoothies and zucchini pasta???

Anyone else experience the same thing??

I'm not sure if this is the same but I know for me, I am the type of person who needs a dehydrator. I am high-raw and expect to be even more so once I get a dehydrator. Every time I look at recipes, the ones that appeal to me use dehydrated items! I think it's a texture thing for me  I'm planning on getting a dehydrator and have a pile of recipes I'm going to make!!!! LOL! After awhile, I may settle down and not need that as much and that's okay too, at least the option is always there and I believe at this point, that it is what will help my progress.

Hey I know what you mean adiebabe, lol My dehydrator is at my parents on the other side of the country! i accidentaly had it deliverd there and I cant bring it up where I am.
I am totally with you on the texture issue, I even went out the other day to buy a vegan nut/vegetable pattie as I craved something chewy and the batch i tried to make with the oven door open just turned to chaff!

Im sprouting some wheat kernels for some essene bread as I had a "slip" the othe day! Im really frustrated, lol, food is important to me,. Ilike sitting down to a good meal and enjoying it! and i dont feel like ive done that in a while!

Just like with anything else in life, uncooking is something one must learn. It takes time plus a lot of trial and error. When you're making something new, halve or even quarter the recipe the first time around just to make sure you like it. Also, I've found that unlike with traditional SAD cooking, you can easily taste raw foods as you go along instead of waiting for the end product. Also, if you don't have a lot of money to spend right now, stick with the simple recipes for the most part and just try one or two new ones a week.

Best of luck to you!

Simple might be better for you to start. Also theres a ton of rawfood videos on youtube for free on how to make so many things. Yes taste as you go until you get it how you like it,then no waste.
Hang in there.Once you find yourself in uncooking, you will be so very happy. You will get there and be an awesome uncooker too.Best and blest

Do you have alissa's book? Her recipes are some of the best that I have tasted, including the ones that I was skeptical about when I read them. They are easy and you'll have really yummy filling food to eat.

Okay, maybe it's just me but I'm not a good cook (or uncook) and I'm in the early stages of high raw so I keep it really simple. Examples:

Green smoothie early in the day (kale, spinach and assorted fresh fruits)

Banana mid morning

Green salad (usually romaine or spinach base) with avocado, tomato, cucumber, onion with a homemade raw dressing (or raw olive oil and lemon)

Nuts and raisins snacks

large grapefruit around 4

dinner might be another salad, guacamole or simply mashed banana mixed with some crushed almonds.

I am easily frustrated by recipes and I also have limited time available to be in the kitchen. So my advice would be 'keep it simple' and see how easy it is to be nearly 100% raw.

Your eating is perfect just the way it is until your body asks for something else....yay to uncooking. No "more slaving over a hot stove" only drooling over a warm dehydrater ar a spinning blender or juicy juicer.!!! Am silly today.
