I'm 23 and from Brooklyn. I teach students with autism in NYC. I absolutely adore my job. I'm not entirely new to raw foods, but have dabbled in it twice before. My longest stretch was 85%ish raw for about six months.
During that time, I was really healthy and energetic! I slipped up, but now I'm back. I haven't been able to wake up easily, my body has started craving 10+ hours of sleep (yikes!) and even with working out vigorously and eating "healthy," I've not lost a single pound of the 25 I have to lose. I can't concentrate! My job requires a lot of patience -- I love it, and I usually have oodles to spare, but I've found myself feeling cranky at the end of the day, which is very unusual for me! I also was REALLY sick for two years before my 6 month raw stint... And I really don't want to go back to that.
So I'm taking the plunge, fixing up my kitchen with my raw tools again, stocking up on the staples, and ready to jump in, 100%, March 1st! I love the raw journey, and I'm glad to be slowly but steadily getting to a point where this is what my body knows it wants, needs, and will have.
