Hee hee this is funny.Anyone out there share a building with others -apartment. And try to respect others in their space BUT we need to blend, juice, chop, process, open coconuts(woweeee) and all sorts of other stuff that makes NOISE! What do you think? I know we have to live and this is how I live.Oh and no there is rarely a time when no one is in the house.

Other question....maybe for the super organized girl that posted all those cool pictures of her stock.....do you keep all your appliances on the counter as you use them so much or put them away each time.If I leave them out,its convenient but messy looking. If I put them away, its a pain in the neck.
Silly nilly questions but ones I am challenged with right now.Thankxa buncha ripe bananas!!!

i just moved from chicago and in my place i could hear a lot from my neighbor above especialy. i called her the clog lady. drove me nuts hearing everything she did and walking around.
well, out of respect i asked neighbors if i disturb them when i'm not using my headphones to play my keyboards... ask if they can hear this or that...
my point is.. just ask your neighbors if they can hear it, let them know what is up and say on a rare ocassion you may hear this when you are sleeping but not for long but apologise ahead of time....
also you can get sound proof stuff. if you want to go that far. and there's some cheap ways that just help some but not a whole lot, but paper egg cartons help some..so does carpet. i'm sure you wouldn't want to spend thousands on your apartment for a decent sound proof system, right?

We live in a small apartment and are faced with some of the same trials. I keep the items I use a lot (Vitamix, FP, Dehydrator) out. Yes, it looks a little crowded, but my time and sanity are worth it. Instead of looking at your kitchen and thinking, "wow, this is messy or cluttered" try replacing those thoughts with "these items make my life easier" or "these appliances help me to stay healthy"...sounds a little corny, but mind over matter REALLY works.:)

As far as the noise, is there an area in your apartment that doesn't butt up against another tenant? Fortunately for us, my kitchen borders our patio so I blend away at all times of the day or night and don't worry too much. I wouldn't worry about the noise if it is at reasonable hours, but if you need to make something late or early, you could try to find a place in the apartment that would be less loud for them.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck to you!

I used to put away all my appliances when I cooked foods. It looks neater that way, and I have very little counter space. I'm still putting away the food processor, since I seem to do a lot of cutting and chopping by hand. :) But the blender has found a new home on the counter. I really like it there; it reminds me of the wonderful changes I've made.

Not sure what I'll do when the food dehydrator arrives ...

everything gets put away here except the dehydrator - it has a nice spot on the counter.
I hate clutter :D

Thanks all of you so far. I have a challenge with the cluttered look.Thats why I asked.I might find a way to put a pretty little drape over them so they are more smooth looking, neater. I do use them so very much its a lot of work to put all away every time.
My kitchen is huge and open.So its a bit of a challenge to keep the sound down.No one says anything although i respect their peace and quiet.I did tell them I made food with blenders n such.No word from them. Its just me wanting to respect them as well.Definitely sometimes I wrap the chopper in a towel or something if its got nuts in it or something.
Thankx again
