Is is possible to get certain diseases when consuming raw food? I'm talking about bacterias that can be destroyed in boiled, fried, ... Are there any precautions to take?

Well, that could be debated from here to the moon. We all have bacteria, good and bad in us. But when you use the term dis-ease? What are you specifically speaking about? Could we "get" it from consuming Raw foods? I doubt it...

Many dis-eases are cured/healed from consuming a Raw diet.

WAIT! bigfish? I see in your siggy line you have fish recipes? Puleeze! That is so discouraged on this forum! This is a friendly Raw VEGAN forum. We don't want any critters cooked or harmed in any way.

So...

Ugh eww fish...

The only diseases I know of that you can get are from uncooked animal sources. Veggies don't have the same issue.

You can of course get e coli and such but the outbreaks that I have heard would not be particular to raw foods. There was an outbreak associated with raspberries but nobody cooks those anyway so we are not more at risk than others.
I do have a Samson sanetizer and I use that if I am in doubt.

OMG I agree with this.. Def do not want to hurt any animals, including fish..

And yes: I think you can get bacteria and parasites from eating raw fish!

Ummm.....thousands...wait....millions...of people eat raw fish! Sushi!! Although it may or may not be a healthy food to be consuming, I don't think everyone coming out of a sushi restaurant is running straight to the doctor's office with some new raw 'fish' disease.....hehe

Wow......maybe you could try being a little bit more open minded....and a little less sarcastic ...just my opinion...feel free to ignore it if you prefer:p :)

I do however agree with this...unless said 'raw food' is contaminated with some sort of harmful substance....:(

I didn't say that raw fish would get you sick although it is a possibility. I said raw animal sources are generally the cause of 'uncooked food' diseases. Pork and Poultry are common sources.

Well, there really are a lot of people here who still think fish is healthy and still eat it yet know better than to discuss it here yet, even so, why would someone purchase online fish? *wrinkles nose*
