is lemon in water a worthwhile thing to drink upon arising? i ask only because i'm on a tight schedule in the mornings and wonder if this is a necessary addition to my routine. what are your thoughts?

alkalizing / vitamin c / appetite supressing = imo good
and can make a pitcher of ice / lemon water in advance and keep in fridge so zero prep time .

Yes, it is...it only takes a few seconds to slice a lemon and squeeze it into glass of water. I find that room temp water is very cleansing for digestion.

the sour/tart flavor gives a little pucker and purge to the liver gallbladder and get the digestion stimulated

Thanks for your info guys. Yes, I think I will keep this in place then. I tend to movely slowly first thing. And then sit on the couch sipping my (room temperature) lemon water...the whole process seems to take around 15 minutes, but I'll just quit the sitting down part and do other stuff while I sip.
By the way, what are people's morning routines like? I've been exercising, meditating, visualising etc etc in the mornings, as well as eating and getting ready for work. I realise I have to streamline things as it's getting too much. Is your schedule simple (just get up and jump in the shower) or complex (2 hrs of yoga, followed by pranayama etc)...

I do alot of stuff in the m ornings, atleast it seems like that to me. I get up about 5, work out for 1-1 1/2hours. Then I take care of the 3 cats (feed and clean litterbox). Then I make a green smoothie which I carry around with me while I make the bed, straighten the house, dress, make my lunch, etc. I'm finally ready to leave by 8 or so.

Wow Blazin' Jane. That is so early to get up. What time do you go to bed?
Does working out in the afternoon/evening not work for you?

geez Blazin'Jane!!! you just reminded me of mary poppins, brady bunch and leave it to beaver.... lol
i've never identified with people who work out when they wake-up ...besides the time i did it while dance training for a few months.. just me and my didly do...and for awhile had to ride my bike to work. maybe it's because i'm a natural night owl? hmmm.
lemon water is great for candida/yeast issues. helps clean it out.

I love my lemon water first thing in the morning. Sometimes I also add sea salt and MSM powder. Sometimes I make it a special treat by adding stevia and vitamineral green powder. Then I have a sweet green lemondaide :) .
I'm another early riser, like Blazin' Jane. I wake up at 5 AM. I go to sleep at 12:30 AM. Raw gives me so much energy. I work out in the morning but not at 5 AM. The gym doesn't open until 7 AM so that's when I go to the gym. Then after working out I eat breakfast.
