What's the verdict?

if you like them, eat them. if you don't, you're not missing anything.

some are raw, some aren't. now that they're owned by GM (right?) there will probably be more that aren't 100% raw. Like, they have a peanut one that has raw dates in it, but cooked peanuts.

Tried one for the first time the other day. Not impressed, but that was me.

I noticed the ones that were not 100% raw were the chocolate flavors. I carry a Ginger Snap Larabar in my purse for emergencies.

I like Larabars but now that I'm trying to be 100% raw, I want to limit my 'processed' foods. I might try a few to keep with me but I like the Rawma bars a bit better.

The Jocolat bars aren't 100% raw, the regular Larabars should be but you can check the label to see what it says.

Lara Bars just don't do it for me either... I love the bars by Nature's Path for Dr. Weil though! I'm currently waiting on a response from their company as to whether or not they qualify as raw. Perfect 10 bars are raw and they are excellent also.

That'd be interesting if they were but I think you'd also expect to see raw on the label if so although Dr Weil isn't a big fan of a raw diet. It doesn't seem like there would be any issue with making them raw though given the ingredients.

Lara bars clearly state the percentage raw on the label which is very handy.

Over here we have a bar called Nakd and the wrapper says RAW but the manufacturer admits that while they do not cook the bar most of the ingredients are cooked before they make it. This is the most ridiculous thing ever.
What it means is that the only way to be sure that a bar is raw is to ask the manufacturer and even then I am not sure that you will get the right answer.

I like lara bars.

Always was in love with the idea of being in love with bars.Haha.I never liked bars.I used them a little in my early raw days to make sure I had raw on me at all times. But I only could eat a couple bites, the rest would waste. They are too concentrated and heavy for me.Transition food for sure for newbie rawbees.

I can walk over to the co-op during my work day and grab a laura bar if I'm feeling hungry and in need of a little extra snack. I like a few of them, especially the cherry one. Probably not 100% raw but they don't bother my tummy and they seem to do the job :)

In the past I've made a few of my own 'laura bars' as the ingredients are usally just some nuts and dates. I have the quantities written down at home which have worked for myself. I just process them up (in the FP) and stick them in the dehydrator overnight. I keep meaning to get back into this good practice as I'd save a bit of money by making my own for the odd afternoon snack :D

I like them and pure bars. They are handy to carry in one's purse for emergency, I also like the fact that my SAD eating family likes them so I tend to keep them in the house.

I had the lemon one of these and it was so much better than a Lara Bar but they are very costly.

Well nuts...I just got an answer :( I was hoping with the ingredient list as it is, that the bars would be raw (almonds and cashews aside as they are not 'truly' raw), the answer was no. It literally was a one line answer  with no elaboration as to why or because of which ingredients...Not very helpful. Oh well.
