I am googling it like crazy for where I am. I do see we have a Central Market which carries all organic and fresh local produce....I haven't been there yet...So, JUST IN CASE I can't find like the oils, and some stuff for ingredients, is there a back up plan online? I do see a few links in threads...Is that what most of you do?
Thanks....
Oh and another question....I am trying to think of a good RAW regiment for day to day for me...Not only do I want to clean out my body and rebuild it and make it a life long change for me, I would also like to loose about 30lbs. This is what I am getting from some books:
BFAST: Smoothie and fruit
Midmorn: pure fresh squeezed juice
Lunch: Salad w/fresh veggies, maybe some raw nuts for protein
Mid aft: pure juice
Dinner: a wrap (I am making the wrap in the dehydrator, or a salad, or a RAW recipe from a cook book I got....
And I am taking a daily vitamin a day....
Dinner mainly consists of veggies it looks liek also...
Is this correct what I am trying to do here? Any other suggestions?
Thanks so much everyone!

Hmmmm...if you have Central Market, you must be in TX. I'm originally from there - Dallas and Austin, mainly. Central Market is good for organics, as is Whole Foods. Sprouts also has a small section. Sun Harvests are also good stores. Kroger also keeps a small organics section. You can also try farmer's markets. Those vendors who are organic will have "certified organic" posted on their booths.
One suggestion - eat when you are hungry - listen to your body and give it all of the fruits and veggies it wants. You will level out - don't worry about eating "too much."
Best of rawesome health to you!

When I saw Central Market I thought you were in the Seattle area. In that case I could give you a few suggestions. Where are you?

Yes, I am actually on the Kitsap peninsula in Silverdale to be exact. We have a Central market in Poulsbo. Any other suggestions? I see you are in WA also!
Thank you!

I have found everything I need at these 3 sources.
Central Market (Mill Creek)
Full Circle Farm - CSA Box program http://www.fullcirclefarm.com/
I don't see any drop spots on the peninsula, but it might be worth a phone call/email to find out if they can do anything for you. If you sign up I will email you my name to use as a reference. That would get me a $30 credit! I bought from them for years at a Farmer's Market before I found out about the CSA program. There may be other farms with CSA programs in your area. Try googling Community Supported Agriculture. The great thing about FCF Box program is it goes year round.
Raw Vegan Source http://www.rawvegansource.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?display=home
A store at a private home on Union Hill in Redmond. They ship or you can visit the store if you call ahead. There is one time $10 fee to join. Well worth it.
Farmer's Markets will be starting soon. http://www.wafarmersmarkets.com/
Washington is a great place to be RAW! Do you take the Poulsbo Ferry into Seattle very often?

Your welcome. If you go to Central Market be sure to look in the bulk food section for nuts, seeds, and dates. Look for young white coconuts and mangoes in the produce section, they have the best.

You MUST go to Central Market! They are the best! I am in Bothell and I get a lot of stuff from my health food store here as well. We also have Albertson's, QFC, Safeway, Top Foods PCC Natural Markets in the generall vicinity. All have organic foods, some more than others.
I think the great thing about living in this area is people are really into healthy foods and are demanding them. So they are easy to come by.

Thanks so much! That is great to know. I never noticed it before all the organic and fresh produce around...But, then again, we have only shopped on the military base so I wasn't really looking.
This is fantastic! Thanks everyone! I am making my shopping list tomorrow and going shopping!!!

The military base (at least the one in Marysville) does have a small section of organic produce. That's better than nothing. But for the most part, I fare better at other stores. I don't necessarily think the prices on the base are all that great either, for a lot of things.

Our base has nothing....I am going to Central Market tomorrow. Monday I start RAW.
Do you think I can do this for $100/wk or less for 2? I am hoping....
Wish me luck. I am very excited!
Thanks for all of your help!!!

Is that $100 a week for one person? If so, yes! That would be enough to eat very well, especially if you don't spend it on a lot of premade raw foods, which you won't find at Central Market anyway. If you make the trek to Raw Vegan Source that is a different story. I spent $200 there on my first visit, $150 on my second and last time it was $100. But I only need to go about once a month and my raw pantry is well stocked.
Good Luck! Have FUN!
