I've been 100% raw for a week now (I was around 80-85% before that) and have dropped down to 111 lbs...(I am 5 ft tall) My original goal weight was 105 lbs, but the dh told me today that one more pound, and that should be it. He thinks I am looking great right now and doesn't want me too thin. (I'm focusing a lot on weight training and running to get rid of some excess I have from losing 75 lbs) But from what I've been reading and hearing, when you are 100% raw, the body will naturally thin out to a weight that's right for your body. That's correct, isn't it? I reminded him that 105 lbs was my original goal, and he said 'okay. but if I think you're too thin, I'll let you know.' So how do I convince him that my body will thin out to where it's supposed to be? And that I won't look sickly thin but that I'll look full and healthy from following 100% raw?
Livenraw, I wish I had your problem!!!!! I'm a shorty (5'2") and 134 pounds - despite training hard 10-15 hours per week. I have a lot of muscle mass - A LOT! So, one way you can combat looing too skinny is to concentrate on weight training. Trust me - that will bulk you up in all the right places. Then you can eat raw all you want and you and hubby should both be happy. Good luck.
Liven, okay I just read your other post about thinning out.
So, the weight lifting I'm talking about is bodybuilding type weight lifting with decreasing reps and increasing weights to failure. www.bodyforlife.com has some good workouts in case you're not too familiar with a bodybuilding workout. As you probably already know, unless you start taking steroids a little woman like you will not look like Godzilla!!
Oh, and another trick is swimming laps. I used to swim with a team 20 years ago and started up again because of an injury. My shoulders now look bulkier even though I've lost some fat. But you have to swim like you mean it - none of that easy stroking from one end to the other. Swimmers always look less skinny.

You can't judge health by pounds. If you happen to get down even more then you wanted to you will gain some back after your body is healthy and totally ready.

I'm wondering how you're going to stop it?!
There are many references to this all over the rawsites and in raw books. Do you have Alissa's book? If you search through the sites you will be able to find testimonials and articles to share with your husband, regarding losing you're false body, about people who thinned out initially while their body reshaped and cleaned house. Sorry I cant remember directly what site has what.
How would you stop your body from losing weight?
It truly knows what it is doing. Do you know why it is losing pounds, and what exactly it is losing them for? It might be worth researching that and arming yourself with information to alleviate your husbands concerns, and your own also.
Best wishes to you~

I hope this doesn't sound harsh, but the feminist in me says you should be at whatever weight you wish to be, not what someone else chooses.

It will be your body's choice what weight it will be if you stay raw. What ever that weight is, it will be a healthy weight for you.

Please see my post to you on your "I am soooo amazed" thread.
Also, I have to agree with Smileen. How do YOU feel? I know your husband only wants what is good and healthy for you, but ultimately, only YOU can decide what is right for YOUR body. :D
