Hi all,
Its been awhile since I have been active here. I actually quit my corporate job to be a raw food chef at a local raw/vegetarian cafe about a year ago (yay!) but since I don't sit in front of a computer any more all day (yay!) I'm not here as much (boo!).. Anyway, I'm now 20 weeks pregnant but ever since the beginning I had pregnancy nausea and was eating breads and crackers (and pasta- yikes) and fell of the wagon hard core. I was even eating small bits of cheese. I think at my worst I was about 30% raw each day, 90% vegan. Now after gaining some weight I don't need (I've gained about 12 lbs in the pregnancy so far, but I'm starting to see cellulite re-appear on my butt, and it had all gone away when I was 90% raw, I'm motivated to get back to raw. (Not only for aesthetic reasons, but because I know that celluline=toxins which my baby does not need to have exposure to!).
I'm motivated, and I'm around raw all day, but it is still hard to give up the comfort foods I've been eating... I keep looking at pictures of Jinjee postpartum to motivate me, and remembering what Hygeia said in "Primal Mothering", that the way your body feels/looks after a raw vegan pregnancy is like loaning a cherished item to a dear friend for 9 months and getting the item back in better condition than before.
I was wondering who here went back to raw during their pregnancy? I seriously couldn't stomach it before, but I hope I haven't done too much damage to baby or myself by not being diligent in the beginning..
Thanks so much for any replies! I love reading about raw pregnancies! :)
