I was trying to make my own raw cashew butter, but could not find an exact recipe except for reading that I need to use a juicer... so I did that, and I got a cashew flour out of it. Did I do something wrong? Should I add oil or will the oil separate naturally after a while? Thanks!

Add a little flax oil or melted coconut oil to it and stir stir stir. Adding some agave/honey and some sea salt might make a nice touch, too.

pixie - it can be made in a vitamix or similar high speed blender. Start with frozen nuts and blend until smooth, taking periodic breaks to prevent the nuts and blender motor from overheating.

I second using a food processor. When I had to add almond flour to a cookie recipe it send to grind up almonds but to watch them because if you blend too long they go from flour to butter. I assume this would work with cashews too! Good luck :)

I use:
2 cups raw cashews, put in food processor
add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp sea salt and 4 Tbsp canola oil and blend
Then add 1 tsp more at a time of canola oil until you get the right consistancy
