Hello, i came across raw foodism while reading a story about Angela Stokes who lost a substantial amount of weight on this lifestyle. i am currently 330 pounds, and today is my first day raw. i have only had breakfast so far, but i am feeling really quite good. i'm going to take things on day at a time, and see how much of a difference this can make in my life. i'm hoping ALOT!

Hi ellelit,

Welcome to RFT and RAW! That's so Awesome and no Mistake ;) that you found it and us. There is so much here to read and learn about RAW.

I recommend as you are reading and learning just be easy with yourself. There is a thing called Transitioning into Raw. We all go through it differenty. I woud say don't worry about doing it perfectly. Every bite more of Raw you take you are getting Healthier. There is so much to learn and absorb so, be patient with yourself. This is a Life Journey...for sure.

:) Welcome Again! :)

Welcome! I would recommend getting some books. They have helped me so far, and always ask questions on RFT! Good Luck! :)

Hi....

I just shifted to 100% raw too!

For a little incentive... I have a lot of weight to lose too. January was my first full month 0f 100% raw. As of last Monday (I only weigh myself every two weeks) I have lost 13.8 pounds since January 5th--this is without any exercise!!!

Hi and welcome! I am kindof new to the community d(been lurking for a while) But I am making another attempt to live a raw lifestyle. I attended a 10 day class and released 17 pounds during the class, but got home and went back to SAD. I did not seek support from communities like this though and I really think that's the key, so that's why I'm here too!!

Hello! I'm new to raw foods too. People on this thread have already suggested books. As a voracious reader, I second that. You might also take a look at the "Raw Before and Afters" on this forum. Truly inspiring!

oh you can do it!!! no problem at all. know how? take it one meal at a time... and make that meal as raw as you possibly can. the more raw you eat (doesn't matter what it is... eat raw cake if you want... just eat raw!) the more weight you will release.

i released 145 pounds in my first year raw. i started out at 300 pounds and i weight somewhere around the 140 mark (i haven't weighed myself lately).

and trust me... if i can do it, anyone can! i looooooooooooooooooooooooooove food!!!
