My name is Yvonne, and I live in Texas, USA. I am 37 years old. I am about 5'4" 123 pounds, so I don't have a ton of weight to lose, I really just want to be HEALTHY and not always so darn tired!!
I started researching eating raw a couple of weeks ago, but today is day 5 of eating 100% raw for me!!! Day 2 was difficult, but once I got past that I feel great. Yesterday my body told me to nap and I did, for 4 hours!! No tiredness today. I am walking and doing yoga along with it. I am mainly having green smoothies, but also some carrot sticks and cauliflower with a cashew dip that I made once a day.
I was already gluten and casein free, not full vegan though. I still ate meat and eggs, though not often. I have never been a big meat lover. I think the only reason that I eat meat is because I make it for my family.
I have a daughter who is 16, and she is on the raw bandwagon with me! She went gluten and casein free with me about a year ago, even though she didn't need to do it for health reason as I did. She, since she was little bitty, would eat anything if I told her it was good for her! So if she thinks it will make her healthier and I'm doing it with her, she is all over it. :-) I love that about her!
I also have a 5 year old son, with special needs, Angelman Syndrome, http://www.angelman.org , and I feed him very well too, he is mainly vegan, with the exception of eggs, and now I am giving him completely raw meals for dinner.
My husband is the only one who is a complete carnivore around here! Bless him though, he eats whatever I make for him, and usually loves it. I do make him a meaty meal about once or twice a week though. He is truly a meat and potatoes guy at heart, but so open to eat whatever I make him. I am very lucky in that respect I think.
I have also started dry brushing daily, and my daughter also. :-)
I really feel great, I am surprised that I haven't had more detox symptoms, do they come later still???? I want to be ready for them so I know what it is that I am up against!
I have been reading here all week, and love the advice and support that you all give each other, and look forward to being a part of it.
Forgot to add that I have ordered Alissa's book, and can't wait to get it!!!!
Thanks,
Yvonne
