View Full Version : Hello from Scottsdale, AZ!
Hey everyone... just starting to do some research into Raw/Living foods. Was a holistic nutritionist in my prior career. Now I own a greeting card company.
I'm married (June 2006) with 2 English Bulldogs, Peanut & Chanel. We are also part-time breeders and offer the finest purebred, wrinkly, AKC bullies in the Valley.
Look forward to getting to know all of you.
My goals:
Get healthier, drop a few pounds, create a more self-sustainable lifestyle, eat "off of the grid", grow my own food, age gracefully (I'm 20-something), and minimize cellulite and acne.
Thanks!

Welcome to the journey!
I think it's important to speak about one of the reasons I want to go (more) raw. There are many many many. But since there is one big one I'm battling with right now, I might as well admit it and ask for help.
It is true that our skin is large detoxing organ, correct? Well, for me, my skin shows my health - literally. Lately due to my poor diet (better than the SAD, though) I am struggling with...
Acne - very congested pores on my face, back, and chest
Hidradenitis suppurativa - a rare skin condition, similar to acne/boils which occur in sweat glands
Cellulite - need I say more?
Cold sores - one just popped out within a matter of hours today. I usually get them several times per year at the corner of my mouth. Very painful and they sometimes last for weeks.
I'm caught between:
1. It's one life, better enjoy it!
2. It's one body, better take care of it!
And the more and more frusterated I get with my health, my apparence, my conviction for wellbeing - the more I want to change.
I'm slowly introducing ideas and hints to my husband about eating raw. Spoke to him about the purchase of a VitaMix, which I've wanted for a long time.
We live in Arizona - so fresh produce year round is abundant.
Can anyone help with specific ideas or concoctions to help with my skin issues? I know something bigger is going on inside and it's just SHOWING UP in my skin.
Please help.
Love you all. Raw it up.
