i know other nuts can be soaked,and are better if they are, but i was wondering if it was the same with cashews?

They can be, but often do not have to be. It depends. Depends on the recipe too...

when you say they don't have to be, are you talking about enzyme-inhibitor-wise or recipe-wise. My thought is, regarding the inhibitors, that they should always be soaked.

I don't soak cashews unless it is called for in a recipe. I think most nuts are improved by soaking and dehydrating, but not cashews. If your not eating large amounts I don't think soaking is necessary. I make dressings and puddings that blend up much creamier when the cashews are soaked. They only need to soak a couple hours. If I want them extra soft I soak them for a longer time in the fridge. Strangely, the truly raw cashews I use turn pink if they are soaked too long at room temp. That can't be good. :confused:

I don't soak them because they are already Soft, along with Mac. Nuts.
