Hi All---
I'm from Stamford,CT and live with my very supportive husband and twins. I have been peeking on the site for a while now. About a year ago, I attempted (albeit poorly) to go 100% raw. I ended up eating almost no greens and just fruit. Needless to say, once the summer months left so did raw.
Fast track to last summer. I had a doctor that misdiagnosed me (I had h.pylori) and I went for months with many IBS symptoms. Now this is an issue as I also have epilepsy---if the meds don't stay in trouble brews. That's exactly what ended up happening in October. Trouble brewed.
A doctor gave me h.pylori meds and didn't cross reference with my other meds. Hence--TOXIC. I spent 2.5 months out of work and haven't been the same since. Now, instead of being on one drug, I'm on three.
When I was at home, I brought myself back to this site. I also have Alissa's book and love it. I realized that maybe this was the answer that I was looking for. Trust me, I was looking.
So, I finally said NO to the doctors. No more medicines, no more medicine changes, etc. I'm going to work with yoga, vitamin therapy, neurofeedback, meditation/prayer, and a raw food diet. You can imagine the looks that I'm receiving now!
I've made an appointment at an Integrative Health Center (for tomorrow) and plan to work with them to beat the use of drugs. It is my belief that all of this work will pay off. I figure that if raw food can cure a disease such as cancer, it can certainly help an illness such as epilepsy.
I look forward to meeting all of you "on the boards" and will look for guidance as I continue on this journey.--LMT:)
