Hi everyone!
I hope I'm doing all this forum stuff right :)

I'm 26 from St. Louis & just started eating raw. This is the first day of my 3rd week. I've always been pretty healthy...for the most part. I was definitely a yo-yo dieter from about age 18-23. I then got PCOS, but by the time the doctors knew what all my complications were from I had gained 60# had brown & white spots all over my skin. I was sick as a dog, couldn't work out all I could do was sleep. After 2 years of getting all that mess under control I have done the master cleanse a few times & ate pretty healthy...alot of salads, nuts veggies & fruit, but still ate processed & animal foods---cheese, salad dressing, eggs...etc. I did the master cleanse again for 21 days on Jan 1st & since then have been eating raw. I am totally excited to be doing this. I realized how much I missed the days of eating big fruit salads & not feeling like I had to eat protein with everymeal. I am hoping to loose the rest of the weight I put on ---my body is very fickle with weight due to all my hormone problems in the past...so I'll be curious to see what happens, all I know is that I feel really good & am really enjoying this journey

I have heard about the raw food pot luck just recently. I would love it if you could send me the link. How long have you been raw?

Here ya go, Katie:

If you sign up, you'll get reminders about the rawlucks... they're the 1st Sunday of every month. A small group, but it's always nice to connect with other raw fooders.

I've been raw since September. Pretty much went 100% overnight. It's amazing, isn't it? :)

It is amazing! If you get a chance, let me know changes that you've experienced since you've started eating raw food. My family is pretty healthy, but some think it's so extreme...and I remind myself that there is nothing extreme in eating healthy live food.

Welcome! Do you have Alissa's book and DVDs? Really should think about getting them. They are wonderful tools to help on your raw journey. Over 350 recipes!!!

And read all you can...consume yourself with raw information. I have books everywhere. In the bathroom, in the bedroom, living, kitchen, EVERYwhere...

I live and breathe this stuff.

I totally agree with ya, V4L! I live and breathe it, too - totally saturate myself with all the info I can get. And this, right here, is the best place for it, I think - so supportive, just wonderful.

I know it seems extreme - which is why I was so skeptical at first. I don't have "raw" as my goal, per se... I have the best health ever as my goal. Right now? That means 100% raw. If/when that stops working for me, then I'll stop. But honestly, I can't even imagine that happening at this point. This attitude helps me feel less extreme.

My benefits so far? Some weight loss (about 15 pounds the first month or two, but leveled off since then), increased energy, dramatically better mood, feelings of oneness with everything... I didn't have severe health problems when I started, thankfully, so I can't say I recovered from xyz... but the results are pretty dramatic-seeming to me, nonetheless.

If ever you want to get tea or something and talk about raw, just let me know. You can message me on here if you like.
