I am hoping y'all can help me out. I am having *4* teeth pulled on monday and in addition to green smoothies, I need other soft things to eat as I am not going to be able to chew things for a while. Beyond raw chocolate mousse (which I could totally live on, btw) I was thinking of chia puddings and the like. I have never tried any chia puddings so I was wondering if anyone had favorite recipes to share? I am allergic to nuts and won't be able to chew so the recipes do need to be soft...:D TIA!

I thought about that and actually may just do green smoothies, though I don't need to lose weight which is why I was thinking of eating the 'puddings' and such.

You can do Fruit Puddings on their own or add the chia gel to it like Kiwi+Banana, Strawberries+Kiwi, Bananas+Strawberries. Or soups & smoothies you add chia to.

Chia Apple Meal
Chia seeds, soaked
Apple
Chop & blend apple with water. Mix in with chia seeds.

Chia Goji Cereal
1/3 cup Chia seeds
¼ cup Hemp seeds
¼ cup Buckwheat Groats
2 cups Water
Banana, sliced
Goji Powder
Optional: Cinnamon, Agave
Stir seeds & groats in container w/water & soak for 8-12 hr min. Add banana & goji Powder & stir.

Chia Apple Dessert
3 Apples, chopped
½ cup Raisins
1 Orange, juice
1 tsp Cinnamon
¼ cup Chia seeds,
¼ cup Hemp seeds
¼ cup Buckwheat Groats
Blend all but seeds & groats. Stir in rest. Let soak couple hr.

how about increasing your health? fasting is great for that and it sounds like you've been given a golden opportunity for it.

you could even do a juice fast :)

Are you sure you will be able to use a straw? I had a few teeth pulled last year and they told me not to suck. May be different for different teeth.:)

I made a really good tapioca pudding from chia seeds. I dont remember where I found the recipe, so I cant take credit for it. But even my dad loved it and he has the typical garbage diet. I was so happy to get him to eat something healthy!

Here it is: ( I will look for the original post of this so that I can give credie where credit is due)

1 tbls chia seeds
1/2 cup mylk ( I used almond )
1 tbls grated coconut
2 tbls raisins ( I found this to be too sweet and used 1)
1 tbls vanilla
1tsp agave

mix it all in a bowl and stir, stir, stir.... it is best if it is left in the fridge overnight.

This is one serving. I did it times four and changed the almond milk from 2 cups to three cups to make it creamier. It taste better than home made with sugar and cooked!

Ever since I made this it is a staple in my house!

Aleeshayes, I certianly could do a GS feast for health, and like I mentioned...I just may do that! :) I am hoping it will help me heal quick. Juice fasts don't go too well with running after 3 little ones, especially when they want to be skiing, etc every day! I know I can keep up with them on GS.

AmberlyNo, I don't think I can use a straw...but I don't drink with one anyways :)

rsloan, dimond and JennaBoAhh, thanks for the recipes! I am definitely going to try both!

I have 2 teeth that are dead, one that is broken beyond repair and one that gets recurrent abscesses. I have REALLY bad teeth and quite alot of fillings. I am working on getting all the mercury removed, but don't want to do root canals if I don't have to. So, for now, 4 teeth are gone on monday. (unfortunately, that is only the begining of my dental experience! :()

My favourite chia seed recipe is really simple.

1 cup of almond (or other nut) milk

1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds (depending on how thick you want it)

1 large banana mashed or blended

pinch of cinnamon

small pinch of salt

dash of sweetener if needed (the banana is enough for me)

mix everything together and let sit for about half an hour. Then you have a milky tapioca style pudding.

Good luck with your teeth!
