Try this neat little trick :) . Leave 1/4 cup of cacao nibs in 3/4 cup of water overnight. Then drink the water. It tastes like chocolate! Enjoy.

Funny that you should post this today. Just last night I was wishing I had something to sip that didn't taste like herby grassy stuff. Thanks so much for sharing this. I'm going to soak those little nibs right away and have them tomorrow or late tonight.

Alissa sells them. Or you can find them at your local Whole Foods, or health food store.

Lucy - I was soaking cacao nibs because I was tired of gritty smoothies. When I blend unsoaked cacao nibs to my smoothies, I find that they have a gritty texture, even in the vitamix. I was hoping that soaked cacao nibs would make a smoother smoothie. So, I decided to take a sip of the soak water from the cacao nibs, and to my surprise it tasted like chocolate! Now I am going to try soaking vanilla bean seeds and cacao nibs together in water to make chocolate vanilla tea.
gritsnla - I've never tried Alissa's cacao, but I'm sure it is great as all her products are. I buy my cacao from www.sunfood.com, the original and the best. Most of sunfood's products are overpriced, but they really have the best cacao and they do cacao right. I also like www.gnosischocolate.com for bulk cacao. The Gnosis chocolate bars are utterly divine, as well. I've tried a few other brands of cacao but they smelled sour/fermented and didn't make me feel great.

sorry to get OT, but you can also soak goji berries in water and add a little lemon juice to it and mmmmmm goji tea! I leave the berries in there and eat them when I'm done drinking the tea.
love this and it's really refreshing... put it in the fridge if you want it cold!
