Hi There Everyone!
I didn't see a thread started yet - so here it is:
This is a place to state your workout goals - join at anytime - whether your new to exercise or a novice.
Jump In!!
My Feb. goals are as follows:
Go to the YMCA everyday - same as last month to get some movement in.
M, W, F, Sat, Sun - 55 min workout on the treadmill - For the first 2 weeks it will be increasing my walking speed - slowly.
The next 2 weeks will be incorporating a walk/jog workout - possibly the couch potato to 5K program - I tried it last year, but moved to quickly - hurt my knees & quit - this time I will go slowly & listen to my body.
W, F, Sun - Total body weight workout with machines & free weights - usually 20 - 30mins.
Tues, Thurs - Teaching/doing my 1 hour yoga class
So, what are your goals??????

Hi!
Well, I've tried working out/hurt myself/healed back up/tried working out/hur... so many times.
I've got a rebounder, and I'm doing that. Most days. Just a few minutes at a time, trying to keep my ankles from pronating, in order to not hurt myself...
I have all intentions to get back into doing my daily ab crunches and butt lifts (the ones my chiropractor told me that I have to do).
Daily bouncing
Daily crunches and lifts
Easy outdoor walks a few times a week
That's it for me... for now, anyway :)

Today was a great work out day!
I went for a 45 minute walk outside in the great weather we had today. I also did a 45 minute work out DVD from the Firm - cardio sculpt.
I could have walked outside longer today if I had more time - it was so beautiful.

I can agree about the beautiful weather yesterday MelissaO - it was around 50 here & people were walking around in t-shirts - ahhh, a little hint of what's to come to brighten our spirits!
Unfortunately I had to work until 4pm yesterday & then teach yoga, so I didn't get to go outside too much.

True. Although, it's a goal not necessarily the end all be all. :)
Ok, walked on treadmill for 25 minutes yesterday. And today I am injured. I don't know what I did but it feels like I bruised my heel? Is that possible?

Dancer - Is it possible that you've increased your walking speed or inclince too much since just starting? When I first started up again I only started at 3.0mph, then sloowwwllyy increased to 3.1, then 3.2, etc.... over weeks - I'm up to 3.7mph now since Jan.
Also, make sure you have a good pair of shoes - this makes ALL the difference in the world - maybe you could stop by a running shoe store & they could tell you if you'd need a shoe with more support, etc. - this helped me greatly! Take it slow, don't stop!
Yesterday: I think I slept wrong because my left shoulder/neck area felt like there was a pinched nerve & it radiated throughout the entire area - painful!
I did a slower workout because of it - Walked on the treadmill for 55min @ 3.3mph - I only did the lower body weight machines - skipped the upper body & focused on healing my shoulder all night while I slept - I think it worked, because it sure feels better this morning :o

I did a 35 minute pilates work out yesterday and then 10 minutes of ab work after. Today I would like to do some cardio - I have 2 Hero's episodes to watch today which would be perfect to treadmill to.

That may be it. I've been at 3.5 and I did increase my incline. Hmmm...
Have been off it for 2 days. I'm going to let it heal fully before I start up again. And, yes, I have a nice pair of sneakers that I only wear to the gym. But getting someone elses opinion might be good advice. Thanks!
I hope your neck is feeling better.

Thursday: Taught/did my 1hr yoga class
Friday: Walked on the treadmill for 55min @ 3.4mph & a Total body weight workout + abs & stretching
Saturday: I overslept and missed my 7am workout with my buddy - I decided it was my body telling me to take the day off - I was soooo tired alllllll day.
Sunday: I started the couch potato to 5k workout - I did the jogging @ 5.0mph & the walking part @ 3.8mph for the 25mins - then I finished up with 30mins of walking @ 3.6mph - WOOHOO! I'm so happy I made it through - the first couple rounds were pretty tough & I thought: "I'm not ready for this yet...." - after the first 10min it was ok - although my heart rate got up to 173!
The walk/jog is only scheduled for 3 times per week - my days will be: Sunday, Wed. & Friday. Those are also my weight lifting days...

It is not many times that I would like to thank guilt but yesterday is one of them. I had very little me time yesterday and could not fit in my normal work out routine. Getting ready for bed I looked at my abs and said to myself it will not take that long to do a short pilates tape. So I did 30 minutes with resistant bands. I am sore today - hurray!

A little late but joining in. For the past two weeks have done 3 days and the next week 5 days of Turbo jam. This week my Chalean Extreme videos came in. Started Monday roughly 35 mins of weights. Tuesday was supposed to be a rest day but I did a 15 min indoor walking with Denise Austin and her stretch part of the video. Wednesday was video #2 weights again approx 30 minutes. Today (Thurs) was called Burn Intervals. About 2 min of high cardio get your heart up and then lite weights/lots of reps the next 2 min. This was all alternating. Kicked my butt! I didn't think there was much cardio in this but this one was killer. My legs are a little sore today. Hope this goes well. Really trying to get that winter weight off!

Never too late:) I have Turbo Jam too! I really am a Firm believer - their programs whip me into shape. For new years I got the fanny lifter work out from them and man I can see a total difference!
Today I went to the gym and walked on the threadmill at 3.5 for 45 minutes. I also worked out on the elliptical for 20 minutes.

Great job gals!
Yesterday: I taught/did my 1hr yoga class - I had 15 people - most of them younger high school students, so I pushed them a little...;) At the end of the class - most were really excited & said they'd be back -however, one of my just returning after a long time off "regulars" said to me "Who ordered the butt kicking?" - I said "I don't know what you're talking about...." :p

02-20-2009, 08:02 AM
Monk - way to keep that regular in line! Keep her guessing and not complacent.
Just did Burn 3 of ChaLean Extreme - whoo! I know I'm going to be sore later. But that's a good thing. I'm really digging it and can't wait to see some results. I haven't taken any before pictures, because somebody has to do that for you. Thinking about it though.
Have a good one!

Gritsnla - Chalean extreme looks pretty cool - I have a turbo jam dvd - I liked the slower strength workout. I also have the Power 90 - did it for a while, got bored with it - then started working out with a friend at the gym instead. Great job - can't wait to hear/see your results!
MelissaO - Way to keep it going - this has been a great exercise month!
Yesterday: Walk/jog program (3.6mph - 5.0mph) for 25min. - then walking at 3.6mph for another 30min. Some light stretching - took a break from the weight lifting routine today - I was sore from the "butt kicking" yoga I taught the night before....
Today: My friend bailed on me this morning...she went out too late last night - so I went to the YMCA closer to my house & walked on the treadmill for 55min @ 3.4mph.
Keep up the great work everyone! :D

Did the 2nd video of what I consider cardio for ChaLean Extreme....called Burn it Off! And again whipped me! This one was alternating intervals again, but no lite weights in between. The cardios will stay the same throughout the 90 days. But the weight lifting part is a series is 3 workouts per 30 days. The first week and, of course, I'm all pumped about doing it. I really want to do this and hope the momentum continues. I have been enjoying this.

Went to parades yesterday and did lots of walking! A lot of standing on concrete. Started at noon and went on to Bacchus parade at 7pm. A long day! Hey, but I did see Val Kilmer!!
Anyway, today did 20 min Turbo Jam cardio and then did Burn 1. Got up late this morning, was tired, cleaned house and finally late afternoon did the workouts. Glad I did.

Sunday: Took the day off from working out at the gym to get my disasterous kitchen back in order & help my boyfriend do his taxes, & cut his hair.....etc, etc...
Yesterday: Walk/jog (3.6mph-5.0mph) for 25min. , then continued walking @ 3.6mph for another 30min.
I have decided I will take off 1 Sunday per month from working out at the gym (I may still do something quick at home) - so I can get some stuff done, because I rarely seem to find the time. ;)

Yesterday: Taught/did my 1hr yoga class - I think I kicked my own butt last night by going deeper in the poses - I asked if anyone else's legs hurt?? or if it was just me....
I also told them that Thursday night's class would be another "fun with balancing" class - some proceeded to say "Oh, it's a good thing were supposed to get a snow storm that day with 6 - 10" !! lol".......
So, I guess we'll see what happens if I will even be having the class.

I am behind in posting - I have been on kid patrol last week and this week so not much "me" time on the computer but I have been working out.
Monday I did 30 hour of pilates with resistance bands- felt sore on tuesday so I know it is working.
Tuesday: 30 minutes of cardio sculpt from the Firm DVD.
Not sure what I will do today - I tinkered with the tought of going to the health but there will not be enough time for it so it will have to be a work out tape inbetween laundry loads.

Busy, Busy MelissaO! Great job with the workouts!
Yesterday: My knees are starting to feel sore, so I opted for a slow "recovery" walk instead of the walk/jog plan for the day - 55min @ 3.0mph - still feeling sore this morning.
Yesterday I also did a total body weight machine workout for about 15 - 20min & some abs & stretching.

Thursday - I ended up cancelling my yoga class due to bad weather
Friday - Walked on the treadmill for 55min @ 3.3mph - also did some stretching.
Yesterday - I had to work all day & the gym was closed by the time I was done & since we had a "Demo Day" at work - it was crazy busy & I was exhausted by the time I got home.
