Hi again!
After 16 days on the MC I did 3 days of juice and am now on a mainly raw diet. I'm curious about fruit fasting and was hoping for some tips from more experienced fruit fasters, especially concerning the basic do's and don't's.

So far, what I've been able to find:
*breakfast= one type of fruit only, as much as desired
*wait 90 minutes before eating a different type of fruit
*lots of water throughout the day
*some raw nuts are ok to eat in the evening

Anything else I need to know?

thanks so much in advance!
-anna

well on fruit fasting you do not eat nuts. waaaaaaaay too hard on the digestion so i don't know where you got that info but i would strongly advise against that.

you 'can' do fruits together just no melons with anything else. that's all melon - watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew etc. you can combine them together if you wish but not with anything else. they have a much higher digestion rate so they should be eaten alone. ;)

fruit is anything with a seed. so cucumbers, red peppers, avocado (although i would not do these on a fast - too hard on the digestion), tomatoes... you get the idea right?

nuts are the seeds of the fruit and unless they are small... you should avoid them while fasting. so even though we eat the entire apple normally... while fruit fasting the seeds should be avoided.

of course cucumber seeds are fine and so are zucchini.

you can, if you choose to, add some sea veggies to your fast to increase your greens if you want a little more healing as this is a very very very cleansing fast. chlorella (powder or tablets - be sure to chew them), spirulina... wheatgrass juice - all good choices although you may find the wheatgrass gives you the farts AND is too hard on your tummy so play this by ear.

you can, of course have lots of fresh fruit juices as well.

hope that assists ya. all the best with your fast!

Sorry, but I have a few more stupid questions:

- can i continue to take my Omega 3 supplements during the fruit fast?

- if I'm unable to find certain fruits in the organic store can I buy the regular ones in the supermarket or would they render the whole fast pointless? I only ask because I love pears and although I know they're on the list of the "dirty dozen" fruits that should only be eaten in their organic state, I really can't afford the insane price (nearly $2 a pear!)

- do certain fruits contribute to the detoxing process better than others?

thanks again!

Very helpful info - esp. about chewing the chlorella. I'm 'chewing' as we speak....
