I just got my new excalibur dehydrator yesterday and am anxious to make " small" batches of different things to see if I like them. Do people make more than one thing at a time in the dehydrators? Do the flavors get mixed together? Just curious before I start " cooking"

This has been discussed before. I personally don't do anything strong like onion bread and fruit rollups together, but I have done multiple "things" and have had no problems...

I have done onion bread and fruit roll ups, LOL.
I do mixed loads all the time with no problems.

I've been too chicken to try it;)

Ditto HG. I put whatever I have in there. No problems thus far.

Great! Thanks! I think I am too chicken to do savory and sweet at the same time as well. But I am really excited and am going to start making some things NOW! Yippee!

I mix it all up. I have never noticed the flavors mixing. I just finished drying pizza crust, crackers, and blueberries. My suggestion to try is granola. Just mix up whatever nuts/seeds you have around with fruit/raisins/gogi berries, honey, sea salt, maybe some cinnamon and dry. Serve it atop fresh blended coconut cream parfait, fresh fruit, pudding, enjoy as cereal, or make into bars. Have fun!!

Thanks, Jen. The granola sounds good.Thats a great idea for left overs. Right now I have pesto stuffed mushrooms, potato chips, zuccini chips and zuccini crackers in there. I have nuts soaking for banana bread and mexican chips I am going to make tomorrow.

I've never had a problem with mixing the flavors. I actually have a batch of marinated green beans, onion rings, and chocolate macaroons in there now, and I'm getting ready to add some cinnamon flax crackers.
