OKAY,

THIS IS A THREAD, that I am daring you to post in.

1. you must type out something you hate, or used to hate about your body
2. you must now say you love it
3. you must actually try to love it
4. you must be honest
5. try it, it is hard to do, but, it will help you, trust me on this.

so.
1. I love my Goddess Ass
2. I love my thunder thighs
3. I love my Buddha belly
4. I love my gray hair

There, sooo easy to type, now let's actually try to love these parts of ourselves.

Also, I am going right now to stand in front of the mirror and admire my parts that I used to NEVER look at, and enjoy the fact that I have these parts, as they are useful to my human form.

Any takers?

Any BRAVE SOULS OUT THERE?

Come on, you can do it.

Every one of us has something that we don't (or didn't) like about ourselves at least once in our lives.

This is most difficult. The first thing that popped into my head, there is no way I can love. So, onto my second hate.

I have never liked my hair. It has always been super straight, oily and fine.

So, I can learn to love and appreciate my hair. I love my hair! I love my hair, I love my hair! I am trying. I love my hair, and tomorrow I will buy some honey and wash my hair luxuriantly.

Blessings.

CONGRATULATIONS, I know how difficult this is, it is NOT for the faint of heart.

YOU did great. Now, let's see who else can be honest with themselves.

Often, you will find that the one thing you (used) to hate, is what others love about you.

I also have fine straight hair, and I was complaining to someone once, when a person walked by over heard me, and said, "Oh, I think your hair is beautiful, it is so sleek and shiny, mine always looks like straw, it's so dry and wirey", and from that moment on, I loved my long straight, oily, shiny sleek hair.

This one is easy for me LOL I had been HATING my bloated, edema legs and ankles since I have been 16 weeks pregnant. (we are 30 weeks now) I would notice everyones ankles every where we went. Everyone had ankles but me  I have now come to terms with them and love them and even have been wearing ankle bearing dresses.

rawpriestess

YEAH !!! RANDOLYN,

Good for you, I bet your ankels are gorgeous.

Okay, here it goes

1. I love my pouchy belly that has carried 4 kids.
2. I love my huge hips, hmmmm also related to those same 4 kids
3. I love my huge breasts, oh dare I say it again?
4. I love my small waist that jeans never ever fit.

These are things that always stick out to me when looking in the mirror.

Another thing, is my vagina..there I said it. For a long time I thought it was dirty because older men took advantage of it, the babysitter touched it in ways it shouldn't have been. I know this is getting deep, but if not here where? So I am setting that hurt go, I deserve to love my vagina!! IT allowed my children to enter into this world for all those other things I have to start loving too!! Sorry if this offends anyone, that is not my intention.

Awwww, no fair RP!!
I saw the dare you and of course had to come see.

Well, I used to love my breasts, and then i developed a gland issue called hidradenitis suppurativa which left a few scars on them. So then I hated them and cried over them.
Now I will say "I love my breasts." gulp
I LOVE MY BREASTS.
hmmm
ok and my tummy, never good enough for me.
I love my tummy.
I love my tummy.
I love my tummy.

It doesnt feel all that true.

I love my knees that I have spent my whole life thinking looked wrong.

I love my stomach that even when I was skinny was never nice looking.

I love my butt despite it's many flaws.

I love my my breasts that have always looked like they belong on the cover of National Geographic, you know those topless tribal women they don't even have to bleep out on tv?

I love that horrible little "second breast" created by the fat inbetween my underarm & my chest.

I love my voice that I wouldn't wish on anybody.

I love my very unfeminine fingernails.

And most of all I love my c-section scar. (it's not the actual scar I mind, you really can't even see it barely at all, it's the fact that my unnasisted homebirth was ruined & I should have followed my instincts instead of giving away my power to well meaning others) God that was hard to say, i'm trying so hard to mean it!

Oh & I love my chin that sticks out weird also.

YOU GUYS ALL RAWK!!

Autumn,

CONGRATULATIONS, you did it, I know how hard this is, and you did it gurl.

YOU have a beautiful waist, it is absolutely perfect.

You have gorgeous lovely big eyes, they are breathtaking.

You have a lovely mouth, and the sweet words that come out of it, are priceless to so many.

You have wonderfully strong and beautiful arms that hold the love of your family.

YOU DID IT YOU DID IT, AND IT WASN'T EASY, AND YOU STILL DID IT.

GOOD FOR YOU.
************

RawVeganMom,

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU DID THIS AND I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS.

YOU RAWK!!.

You have beautiful knees that carry you around each day to follow your little ones.

Your stomach is gorgeous, with it's soft curves, as a goddess's body should look like.

You butt is fantasitcally beautiful, it never "butts" in where it isn't wanted, and it allows you to sit proud and strong, with little ones on your lap.

You have wonderfully gorgeous breasts, both of them, they have fed children, and rested heads, they have been there for tears to fall upon.

Your chest is perfectly beautiful, especially the space between your underarm and your chest.

Your voice is a melody to your children, and a song in the heart of your friends, anyone would love to be able to speak as elloquently as you do on this forum.

Your fingernails are beautiful, and they help you "handle" the challenges of being a mom.

Our scars are the most beautiful part of us, as they have shown us where we have been, and all the things we have survived.

Your wanting and not receiving an unnasisted homebirth was a lesson so that you can now chose to follow your instincts instead of giving away your power to well meaning others, who truly cared about you, and did the very best they could given the circumstances and what they knew at the time. You are loved and cared for by so many.

You have a lovely chin, that perfectly shapes your beautiful face, that I so love to see on this forum.

BLESSINGS TO US ALL, as we are SURVIVORS, and we RAWK, each and every one of us.

THERE IS NO-THING THAT WE CAN'T DO.

We've made it through these trials, we can make it anywhere.

WE can now say, that we LOVE our challenges, our scars, our "too bigs" our "too smalls" our "too olds" our "too youngs" our "not perfect" parts, and we have conquered our fears, by stating them to everyone -- and mostly ourselves.

WE LOVE WHAT WE USED TO THINK WERE FLAWS, BUT WE NOW KNOW THAT IT IS WHAT MAKES US OUR UNIQUE SELVES.

WE ARE PERFECT IN OUR IMPERFECTION.

This goes against all my "pre-programed by the world" instincts but here goes...

I love my teeth - there are MANY that need fixing and it's often why I don't smile for pictures. Every time I had a cavity (4 kids really sucked the life out of my teeth) my EX-husband would only pay to have the dentist pull the tooth because it was cheaper than fixing it. So, I'm missing a lot of back teeth and many of my front teeth have chipped and we can't afford to get them fixed yet.

I love my belly. With it's apron. It has been the part of me that I hated the most - it is often hard to find something that fits because it's so big and I often have to buy bigger pants just to fit my belly. I have the biggest, widest stretch marks I've ever seen. Even my stretch marks have stretch marks! I also love the four children that came from that belly.

I love my arm wings. That flap in the wind.

I love my big boobs that are quickly moving South on me. I love that I nourished my four children with them.

I love my thighs that are no firmer than jello. *sigh*

This is difficult but a good exercise in loving ourselves. Even the bible says that we must love ourselves. I just don't love what I've done to my body. But as my signature says..."Forgiveness is the perfume the flower cast upon the foot that crushed it." And I must learn to forgive myself.

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU RAWK!!!

I KNOW how hard this is, and you did it, you did it, you are so rawesome.

You have beautiful teeth that allow you to eat all the wonderful nourishing foods that your body needs, and a beautiful mouth that speaks the truth to us here on this forum. We totally appreciate you.

Your belly is marvlous it has carried children, and has made a soft and comfortable warm place for your kids to cuddle up to, while sitting on your lap.

Your stretch marks are wonderful, they have allowed your body to carry those beautiful babies of yours, and we appreciate them for doing their perfect job of allowing your body to grow with those babies inside.

Your arms are gorgeous, they have held those babies, and given loving comfort to so many of your friends, through your hugs and love that you spread around.

Your boobs are beautiful, YES, you are right they have nourished your kids and they hold behind them the heart of a true friend to so many.

You have beautiful things that carry your wonderful body, and allow a nice comfy lap for your little ones to sit on.

YOU ARE RAWESOME, AND YOU RAWK!!

YOU did it you did it, and it isn't easy, not eveyone can look at what they thought were flaws and see them as beautiful.

This isn't easy, it wasn't meant to be.

IT was meant to help each one of us to grow inside, and to love each other, I hope this is helping some of you out there.

AND for those of you who posted in this thread YOU ARE GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL MARVELOUS LOVELY BEINGS, I love each and every one of you, exactly as WE are. Perfect in our Imperfection.

WE RAWK!!!! and will continue to rawk throughout our life, because we are already perfect, each and every one of us. Today, here, RIGHT NOW!!!

starey-eyed-doe

YOU DID IT, YOU DID IT.

and IT wasn't easy. I know how hard this can be, for someone who isn't as brave as YOU.

You have truly beautiful freckles that make you look so young and refreshing.

Your tummy is breathtaking, it is the perfect size to make you into a Goddess, and not just a woman, there is a difference.

You have amazingly beautiful boobs, that cradle your loving and kind heart behind them.

And we love your hips too! yay your big hips are wonderful! YES, we agree, YOUR BIG HIPS ARE WONDERFUL, THEY ARE GORGEOUS, THEY ARE MAGNIFICENT, THEY ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY VOLUPTUOS HIPS ON THE PLANET.

WE ARE ALL PERFECT IN OUR IMPERFECTION, YOU RAWK, YOU RAWK THE BIG TIME, AS WE ALL DO.

I KNOW THIS ISN'T EASY, AND SOME OF you may be laughing, and that's a good thing, we can all laugh at ourselves, at what we "thought" was so bad, or so "big" or so "small" or so "scarred".

WE ARE LOVING GIVING WONDERFUL CREATIONS OF GOD/DESS, AND WE ACCEPT OURSELVES EXACTLY AS WE ARE, RIGHT HERE, AND RIGHT NOW.

And although we may have thought ourselves "not perfect" in the past, we now make a conscious choice, to KNOW that WE ARE PERFECT IN OUR IMPERFECTION, and in that, we are all Unique.

YES!!!!!!

1. I hate my floopy boobs with oversized bsrk aereola
2. I love the volumptuous breast that nourished my babies and now serve as a pillow for my hubby. They are full, lovely and give form and shape to my winter sweaters. The massive aereola is brillant in contrast to the rest of my body. giving me greater dimension, a tell tale sign of proud motherhood.
3. I will look at my healthy boobs in wonderment, because of their utility beyond sex appeal and nourishment. Loving them because they are mine.I will love them in their full splendor and know longer cram them into too small underwires that make me itch.
4. With the right bra and ONLY when standing my breast are actually quite sexy lovely mounds of carmel colored flesh. Tonight I will don my favorite super support lace brassiere and arouse my hubby.
5. Knowing that he loves every ripple, curve, cottage cheese dimple and stretch and floopy layer of flesh helps me to love me more. Knowing that I am whole and healthy today makes me want to love me more and eat better now for healthier brighter more loving tommorows. :D

Note to self: See what years of Judy Blum books and "I must increase my bust" chants and exercises have done?!?!?! :D

Note to the Mods: I hope #4 isn't to erotic that you delete it but er huh I think I'm gonna go show hubby which of his parts I love. ;)

This is a wonderful excercise in self-love and acceptance. I'm not very good at either, but I'll give it a go...

I hate the spider veins on my legs and around my nose that I've had since High School. - I love them because they are part of the genes that came from my sweet father.

I hate the stretch marks on my tummy. - But I love that they are a permanent reminder of my 4 children and how much I loved being pregnant.

I hate the giant scar across my scalp from my skin cancer sugery last year. - But I am blessed that the cancer is gone and was easily treated.

Thanks for this RP. It is hard to face these surface flaws but a good reminder to us that we should be grateful for being complete and whole.

And btw, I happen to love gray hair. My husband is gray and I think is it really sexy!

OK ...
I love my tiny boobs that sag. Who new such small boobies could sag?
I love my stretch marks.
I love that my ass is no longer perky but is now long and jiggley.
I love my thick ankles.
I love my knobby hands and short stubby fingernails.
I love my big feet.
I love that my teeth don't line up correctly.
Wow ... arn't I painting a pretty picture?
I know that all of these things that I "love" make me ME and I think I am beautiful. I truly do.
There is nothing more beautiful than a woman unashamed of her "flaws".

Please note that Sophia Loren, one of the world's most gorgeous woman, had eyes crooked and too slanted, a jaw that was too wide, a chin that was too small, a nose that was crooked and lips too big, breasts too large, hips too large, waist too small, and big feet, per the fashion standards of the 50's.

Cassidy

You boobs are beautiful mounds that depict the Goddess in her most gloriously delicate form.

Your stretch marks show the world that you have lived a beautiful and well traveled life.

Your beautiful bottom is perfectly shaped and is the seat of the goddess energy.

Your thick ankles are sturdy and strong to help you gracefully travel throughout your wonderful life and carry you to each new adventure, with strength.

I love your hands and fingernails, so beautifully shaped, perfect to hold the heart of all of humanity.

Your lovely feet carry you with dignity and grace through all of life's exciting experiences.

Your teeth are perfect to shine brightly as you smile.

YOU ARE GODDESS IN PERFECT BEAUTIFUL FORM.

YOU RAWK, WE ALL RAWK THE BIG TIME.

I'm in tears reading this... after so many years of being told I was ugly and fat... after losing 3 pregnancies, after gaining and losing weight over and over, after years of being on medication, I love the fact that it's ok to be me

* I love my scars from having my gallbladder out, the scar decorates the belly ring, not the other way around *
* I love the wrinkles around my eyes... because I have smiled in life *
* I love the belly that I have, because it's rounded and feminine and it's ok not to be the stick-skinny model that I used to be *
* I love my wide hips *
* I love my interestingly-shaped breasts *
* I love my thin skin, which shows all the highways and byways of my veins *

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR BEING MY INSPIRATION TONIGHT!

I was reading over this, and it's beautiful. I feel like there's no way I can say I love this/that and mean it, but I think there's something special about owning it, at the very least. So here I go.

I HATE my cellulite.
I know that my cellulite will diminish when I learn to take better care of myself and become active in a life I enjoy.
I Love my love handles
I Love my hairy body, it is a product of my African/Cherokee father, and my Norwegian/Polish Mother
I Love the scars on my body, they show that I am not afraid of a little exercise, and adventure.
I Love my small breasts that aren't round unless cold- they may not attract anyone else, but I've always enjoyed them myself- no one knows how to touch them besides me anyway.lol
I Love my large nipples, on my small breasts
I LOVE my montgomery gland laden nipples
I Love my flabby arms- they're strong
I Love my thick legs- they're strong too
I love my stretch marks- zebra stripes are cute on everything!
I love the little dark patches on the bottom of my bum
I LOVE my curly hair- I have had to learn how, but after 17 years of denying my ethnicity, I've really learned to love my hair and wear it proudly.

I am gladly awaiting the day when I can say I feel love and affection for all of these things. I used to think I could never love my hair- I wouldn't even step outside of the house with it curly- so there is hope for me and my other anxieties.
