I read that dandelion is one of the top healthiest greens. Has anybody juiced any? If so what are some good combos for this?
I've juiced the stems, but not the leaves. I use the leaves in green smoothies (and MAN is it strong!). It's almost lemony, it's so tart.

If you get the greens before the flowers appear, you'll have a much less bitter and milder-tasting dandelion green :)

I like to put a handful of dandelion greens in a mixed juice. Any combination of the following: kale, spinach, parsley, beet, cucumber, apple, carrot, and celery. (25-50% green juice, then the other juices)

My juicer doesnt work well with leafy greens so I really don't put them in there, I do however add the leaves to salads, I also use the leaves in my smoothies.
I have bought mine from the store and so far I have not found that they are bitter.

* Provides the Vitamins A, B, C, and D
* Acts as a blood purifying agent
* A mild laxative for constipation symptoms
* Contains the antioxidant luteolin

* Promotes optimal digestive function
* Supports normal bile production (cholagogue)
* Nourishes and boosts overall liver (hepatic) performance
We use it in a green juice mixed with other greens and yes it is super strong. We also take shots of just the dandelion juice. Its sick... but it does the body good ;)

Ah, good call, RawSar, with the info.
I'd like to add to that and say that if you have gallstones, consult your naturopath doc beforehand because yes, it does stimulate production of bile :) and so is very detoxifying!

Is it safe to eat the dandelions from your yard? (I hope it's not a stupid question)

As long as you haven't been using chemicals in your yard.

I was also wondering if the entire thing could be eaten.

I love dandelion greens! I can't find them in stores anywhere near me anymore, but I pick them outside when I can get enough.
A smoothie I love is...
RIPE bananas, berries, and lots of dandelion greens (you can add less but I love the flavor). So delicious!
