I just started juicing and was wondering if anyone has any yummy beet juice combos they really like.
Thanks!
Hey kikilu! I love juicing beets... :) There are some recipes (a sweet one and a savory one) and tips on the ingredients page here (http://uncooking101.com/raw-food-ingredients.html).

Just wanted to say I'm impressed! I can only handle beets grated in my salads. I pretty much just juice green drinks, a little citrus too.
Stina, have you tried it??

The Juice Lady says:
Morning Energy
3-4 carrots, scrubbed with tops removed
1 cucumber, peeled
1/2 beet, scrubbed well, (may include stem and 1 or 2 leaves)
1/2 lemon, peeled
1-inch chunk of gingerroot, scrubbed and peeled if old
Cleansing Cocktail
1 cucumber, peeled
3 carrots, scrubbed with tops removed
1 beet, scrubbed well with stems and 1 or 2 leaves
2 celery stalks
1 handful parsley
1 to 2-inch chunk of gingerroot, scrubbed and peeled if old
1/2 lemon, peeled
Both of these potions should be drinken as soon as possible.
The ginger is intense. Spicy, and it may give you a buzzzz.
You might like the juice better without it.

I tried this and it was delish! I call it "Blood Tonic" - mostly cause its really, really red! Because, I don't know if the combo does anything specific for the blood...<shrug>

Yes, mayhaps it was too cleansing on my system or too heavy or something. I'd do it once awhile but I pretty much stick with green juices. My program is to kinda challenge myself while at the same time trust what my body likes and dislikes.

I got some beets today too, so I might try that carrot, apple, beet combo. Sounds good!

Here is the beet combo I had this morning from the Juice lady:
Popeye's power:
1 handfull spinach
1 handfull parsely
1/2 apple
1/4 beet with the greens
4 medium carrots (greens removed)
1 celery stalk with leaves
I used organic golden beet in there since I came across them in the store for the first time on Friday - they are very sweet and less staining.

Beet juice is the bestest ever!!!! When I find myself flying around(not grounded) and high on raw, carrots and beets juice with apple grounds me as they are root veggies and you know,an apple a day........haha.Beets n other root veggies are seasonal right now too.

carrots
celery
beet
apple
parsley
kale
lemon
in order of quantity
Ann Wigmore says beets are the most detoxifying next to wheatgrass, but I start with the basic carrot/celery/beet from Dr. Jensen's book. I love the velvet layer of parsley juice, and it has to have that half a lemon. Parsley makes me feel so fresh and clean. I even love it best in my green smoothie.
