3 months ago I did a MC by the book. I intended on going at least 10 days, but on day 8 I had a very definite shift in state of mind and some funny vision. I felt really altered (which was kind of cool, actually, since I knew it was coming from my own body and not an outside source) and my vision started changing. It's hard to describe but it was difficult to read anything; it was like the words and letters were all fractured, or had spots on them, or something.

A bit of background - my method of dealing with this cleanse (my first) was to stay as active and busy as humanly possible. Escapism at its best :p. That evening on day 8 was after a long road trip, lots of activity in the city, etc, and as soon as I got home and actually stopped, it all shifted. At the time I was a bit concerned, and just stayed with it for a few hours to make sure that breaking the cleanse was the right decision and wasn't made prematurely.

If I knew then what I knew now, I would have simply made a LA or had some water, lay down and close my eyes. I think I just totally overdid it and needed some time and quiet to catch up with myself again. I am not as concerned about the altered state of mind, but the vision changes....? Is this normal? Other than all of that I felt fine. Heaps of energy, etc.

Thank you:)

Changes in my vision when I am over tired, along with mood changes (my husband claims ) is normal for me and I don't have to be on a cleanse to experience it. I use to also get migraines alot and had really strange vision changes with those.

Normally when I cleanse I try not to over do things (I still will do housework, work out - but only at half the pace and for a shorter time).

Grat job on doing 8 days!

Yep, I couldn't agree more. NOW I realise these things, but at the time I was worried. Great lesson to learn on the first cleanse - don't overdo it! I just felt so damn good, it was hard not to! And the whole 'running away from the hunger' thing...not such a good idea, on so many levels!
