Greetings all,
As some of you know, I've been away for a while as we relocated from MI to WA and I am finally settled in (well, not completely, but getting there) and finally have the DSL hooked up, so no more dial-up! *YAAAYY*!!
Now, I received an email from Alissa because she is going to not be able to get online as much for a few days and I have been informed that things were trying to get out of hand a little bit here for a while with people, postings, links being given to certain sites we don't welcome around here, etc.
Sooo...those of you who have seen and know the movie "The Color Purple"...when Miss Sophia got out of jail and was back home and they were all sitting around the table as Celie was telling "Mister" she was leaving, etc....to quote Oprah's character, "Miss Sophia home now and things 'finna' be different around here!"
For one, there are to be absolutely NO links to or articles quoted from Tom Billings on this forum! Alissa informed me that she wrote something here on the board asking that this not be done and what do I find? Articles to Tom Billings and his Beyond Veg site.
If you have issues with this, read the Mission Statement of this forum. If you have a problem with complying, then I don't even have to tell you as you already know there are TONS of other raw food boards on the 'net.
It's gonna take me a minute to catch up on things, but just so it's made known, I can be a very friendly, sweet, loveable person; but I can also be very tough, strict and if taken there, downright mean when I step into "Moderator Mode". I have somewhat of a trigger finger when it comes to deleting and banning, so please, don't take me there.
This board is one of a kind and there are some things we just don't tolerate around here and I'm here to make sure things stay as they should and have no problems if I am not liked by everyone, etc.
So, let's all keep this place nice and clean and the way Alissa intended for it to be. Drama and fear-based postings and constant bickering and flaming can be found on other boards...we try to keep such things non-existent or at very least, to a minimum here on Raw Food Talk. This place is a place of support of a raw/living plant foods way of life and to be a support to those striving for such a lifestyle.
I'm gonna close this thread and make it Read-Only because there really is nothing more to be added...'nuff said!
