Has anyone done this? I have a bag of frozen broccoli and cauliflower I would like to make a soup at of, but the thought of pureeing it seems gross.
I am on the Green Smoothie challenge so the goal is to use my Vitamix or plain blender when consuming my foods.

Do you have Alissa's book? Her broccoli soup is great. Even my SAD DH loves it. The recipe calls for fresh broccoli but I'm sure the frozen could be substituted; maybe cut down on the other liquid(s) some.

I too was going to suggest the broccilli soup in Alissa's book but I think you'd need to use fresh broccilli.....when you thaw fruits and veggies....they just are different. Try it with the froozen but if you don't like it still try it with the fresh because it is really good.

Yes, alissa's soup! Don't put any extra broccoli though or it is gross. I am always trying to up my veggies so I put extra and it overpowers it. You can float a few pieces on top for texture though. There are several soup recipes with cauliflower & broccoli. Try the search on this website or goneraw.com

I do Cashews, water, onion (other seasonings if you want) blend till creamy and then add brocoli. Its warm by the time your done. Just don't over blend after adding the brocoli. I actually don't mind it, but others might.
