I was wondering what your intake of green smoothies is and how regular you drink them. At the moment I drink them daily any quantity between 1/2 gallon to a gallon- I have really a inner urge to drink them and if I don't I really crave them but i wonder if there is sth as too much. When I first started drinking them 6 month ago i got this glow- which has now completely disappeared (ok I fell completely off the wagon between thanks giving and christmas) and it has not yet returned although I am back since 2 weeks

Your greens smoothie will help you to get back on track. Perhaps consider wheat grass too.
I drink my greens smoothies every day, a min of 2litres sometime 4 so i guess in gallon this is about like you. I sometime, add fresh sprout (broccoli, sunflower, etc...).

I have thus far made 1 "green" smoothie, and 2 or three with a stalk of celery and a half handful of kale. As for those being considered "green" is up for debate. The kiwis probably made them green.
Yuckkkk

Green Smoothies are made with leafy greens such beet greens, kale, dandelion, spinach, arugula, chart, parsley, salad mix even Boston Salad. Any leafy greens especially kale and wild greens are very rich in chlorophyll and contain a wide variety of mineral.
One thing to know about green smoothies, it is good to alternate the green. Mother nature place a poison in them to make sure the animals don't eat the same species at once. It is in very small quantity, it strengthen your immune but if you eat the same all the time, you will get fed up of them because of the poison in them. So alternate your greens to prevent this.
Victoria Butenko researched and found that we need two bunches of greens per day. Beside the wild greens, she found that the dark kale was the richest green. There isn't any way someone can reach this level of eating two bunches at first. I sometime do, i sometime only have one bunch. I don't force myself to drink it, i just love it and i love the feeling that it makes me experience.
It doesn't matter how small your quantity you do with greens, you will feel compel to increase it on your own because you are going to crave for it, lol...
Enjoy them

Wow a gallon? I will be lucky if I can try to drink a quart a day.
Do you take them with you to work, or school? Do you drink them warm if you do carry them with you? Or do you just drink most of them for breakfast and dinner but carry some fresh fruit for lunch.
I am thinking about how I will do my Green Smoothie feast when I am out and about.

I drink 32oz and sometimes 64oz daily. I bring 32oz to work and the people make fun of me because of the look, but I don't care it is all in good fun. I do try to alternate my greens as well. Then I try to drink 32oz more before dinner if I can.

I drink 1/2 a gallon for breakfast and the other 1/2 gallon for lunch. I am a staying at home mum so that makes things a lot easier. I initially did not notice that I was drinking so much green smoothies, but the canister of my k-tech is always filled up to the lid when I make a smoothie. So I measured the liquid and found that the container is actually 1/2 a gallon

Maybe i will change over time but at the moment i prefer my greens in a salad, although in my smoothies i always have greens in supplement form like spirulina, wheatgrass or natures living supplement, it doesnt bother me having things like cucumber in, but any other greens at the moment make me gip if i dont eat them as they are!
So that would be zero i think, i love smoothies though. do people drink that much green smoothies AND eat other food?? dont think i could manage that

it took me 6 month from learning about green smoothies to actually make and drink one- and now i am an addict and don't know how i possibly could have been 35years without them :)
by the way , I was watching the children of a friend yesterday and I made myself a green smoothie while they were playing with my kids- the little boy of my friend wanted to try this "monster colour" drink and loved it so much that he and my son started to have a monster smoothie competition and they had 3 glasses each.

Um, how long does it take to drink a 1/2 gallon of green smoothie? Is it drunk over time (a little here and there in the morning), or all at once for breakfast.
I just have a hard time drinking that much water. I can't imagine drinking other fluids.
But then again, I am an eater, not a drinker....:D

i drink glass by glass, so at once i think, but i drink slowely. I am just so addicted to the tast that I can not stop.
I have the same addiction with green leafy salads- I can go through a giant bowl with no problem- the only reason I stop eating is that at one point my jaws are hurting from chewing :D

I drink, on average, one Vitamix-full of GS a day.... usually I use spinach, kale, mustard greens, or chard.
I LOVE KALE!!!! It's bitter but I have found combinations to wash away the bitterness and it makes me feel SO ALIVE.
I love GS, in general!!! :D

Since I will be on a GS Feast I will try to drink a Vitamix full a day. Usually whatever I mix, I use up in the Vitamix within 4 days. So know I am on a one day Vitamix challenge!

SekhemNefer, buy a Klean Kanteen online, they keep the smoothie cold for a good long time! I have a 40oz one that I take my smoothie to work in!

I actually went on here (somewhere!) and looked at what people were listing as ingredients in their own green smoothies before coming up with mine. I love it and my seven year old asks me to make it for snacks as well as breakfast!
Our fav; coconut water, 1C baby spinach, Two large leaves Kale (and usually the other smaller ones on the stalk as well), three honey dates, 1 green apple (cored but not peeled), approx. a 1/4C goji berries, 2 bananas, 1 1/2 C frozen pineapple and 1C frozen strawberries. Yummie!
I'm ordering sproutein (heard about it here and looked into it) and then will add some of it as well. A little over the top I suppose but you can't say we're not getting our fruits and veggies!
