Like barley, oatmeal, etc.

I am thinking about doing a smoothie challenge for a month. I heard someone say that they got oatmeal put in their smoothie or shake at a place like Jamba Juice and to her surprise it tasted good.

Has anyone done this? I only have Barley in my home at the moment.

You mean not sprouted or made into "flour" or anything?
I personally would sprout them and either put the sprouted grain in, or sprout, dehydrate, then grind into "flour" and add that. But just whole grains - whole? Nope, I wouldn't do that. Although the oatmeal could be ground into a "flour" and added...

I was thinking of adding fruits, veggies, and whole grains (soaked/sprouted of course) into a Vitamix. I know that one would have to soak some grains like Barley. However, I think Oatmeal is soft enough naturally that it doesn't need much sprouting.

I am curious about the taste. I never tried such a thing. But I am in an experimenting mood.

Oatmeal is not raw, unless you have bought it from Alissa.

Sometimes I sprout whole grains, such as quinoa, and add them to my smoothies. Be aware that the grains will make your smoothies much thicker in texture, and adjust accordingly.

AND if it doesn't turn out, add more grains and make crackers!

I've put left over soaked barley in my fruit smoothy before and it was yum. Just a bit thicker than normal. My sister makes porridge for my nephew which is very simular ingredients to my smoothies - just more grains than fruits
